  1. I had Lapband with plication on 8/10. Everything has been perfect with the exception of pain in lower tummy radiating into my lower back. I have a wonderful doctor who listened to me and ordered test then admitted me to find out the problem. Did a ct scan. Everything with my Lapband and stomach was perfect. They did find a pocket of Fluid on both sides of my spine causing the pain. Just something that happened during surgery we guess. He says he feels like my body will reabsorb it. Going home with pain meds in the morning. So we will see.
  2. Karen I so relate to you. I think I was seven when I started gaining weight. Yesterday I weighed in at 298. The surgery went great. I too have someone at church that has been a tremendous friend. She even came to my work and had a protein shake with me for lunch during my preop diet. I also had a lot of prayers going up. Mentally spiritually and physically I was ready. I have been researching and praying about it 5 years. even with a little discomfort I would do it again. No regrets!
  3. Good luck Pheath! Hope u are as excited as I am about tomorrow!
  4. I'm on day 4 of the Preop diet. I have tried 3 different Protein shakes so far. I bought a 2lb container of the Body Fortress whey protein at Walmart for $14.97 (Strawberry). It tastes ok. The Isopure Dutch chocolate is pretty good, but my favorite is the Atkins Cafe Caramel! It is awesome! The hardest part is the mental and emotional part of eating..As an example, I went into a convenience store for my husband on the first day and the smell knocked me down when I walked in! Fried food and more fried food...It did smell very good. But at that moment I knew I had just had my protein shake and was NOT hungry. It was mental! Physically, the shakes, broth, sugar-free Jello and popsicles are sufficient. Can't wait till August 10th. I will be getting the lapband with plication. Such a wonderful journey! God bless You and I hope you find a shake that you like Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools

  6. Oh ok. Good luck to you, too! I'm doing the countdown to the liquid diet. Two weeks from tomorrow! Let me know your progress...it helps to know someone understands what you are going through.
  7. I'm in the Hattiesburg area. My doctor is Dr. William Duncan Donald. The procedure will be done here in Hattiesburg. What made you decide to go to Slidell?
  8. Finally approved by my insurance. Start liquid diet on July 28th. Then August 10th is the day! I get more excited every day. Anyone else in MS getting banded soon?
  9. Don't get discouraged the same thing happened with me...I am with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. The first time I got denied because they said it was not enough information. Then the surgeon sent in more information from my regular doctor and the appeal was granted within two weeks. Don't give up
  10. Awesome! So happy for you! Let us know how it goes
  11. CMK, I totally understand! I want to be able to run a mile without stopping. I guess that sounds weird but it's just something I want for me:) Only have one teenager left at home and I can't wait to make the most out of it. No more mom is too tired or mom doesn't feel like it!

  13. I want to say this site has been very helpful! I haven't felt so alone in this process. Please keep posting because you never know who needs to hear what you have to say. I was just approved and pre-op diet starts July 28th. I am so excited! I lost 100 lbs. by myself but I can't get passed that point. I felt this will be the tool to help me get to where I need to be. Thanks again for posting because it has been a great source of encouragement.
