  1. Did anyone have gallbladder removal with lapband surgery? If so, how was recovery?
  2. Aww congratulations! I'm getting banded next week! I dont plan to count calories or weigh anything either. I just plan on making healthier food choices and obviously, smaller portions plus exercise! Is that what you did? You are an inspiration! Thank you for sharing your story! I wish you continued success!
  3. I would make sure the potatoes are really creamy and not too thick though!
  4. I don't believe the FDA regulates any dietary supplements. Even your multi vitamins are not regulated by the FDA. Just pay attention to the ingredients and don't take any with weird ingredients. For example, muscle milk uses "and/or" a lot in their ingredient list, they don't even know what they are putting in there!
  5. Ahh thank you! I had a little panic attack!
  6. I think you may be retaining your water weight. Try lowering your sodium intake?
  7. I just had gum, then I realized that was probably a bad idea. It was dentyne ice and sugar free. I did take it out, but the reason I had it was because my protein drink left a gross after taste! Did I ruin my liquid diet?!
  8. Sooo what happens if you don't get the full amount of protein reuired? I'm required 100 by doc and today I only got in about 65-70ish. Is it better than nothing? I cant find a tolerable protein drink I ordered unjury strawberry sorbet today so I'll try that as soon as it comes in. My surgery is scheduled for next Thursday....
  9. I was wondering if you can have blended soups, like chicken noodle, chicken tortilla, lentil soup, etc on the pre op liquid diet? I'm on a "full liquid" diet before surgery.
  10. Oooo thank you for the wonderful tips!
  11. Thank you to everyone who replied! You have given me some new hope! I plan to go to GNC and see if they have any samples I can purchase. I tried the gatorade G3 , it's really good! Mixed berry flavor and 16 g protein, no weird smell or after taste or weird thick texture! I hope I can try some of your suggestions!
  12. Boost made me vomit! I'm scared now to drink any protein shake! The taste and smell are absolutely awful! If I'm regurgitating before surgery, I can't imagine how it would be after surgery! What should I do for my pre op diet? I need a tasty protein shake! Has anyone tried Gatorade g3?
  13. Thanks to everyone for the replies...I guess every surgeon is different when it comes to BCP. I'm glad that being on a period shouldn't effect anything either! Thanks again!
  14. Did you finish the pack or stop somewhere in between the BCP?
  15. My doctor told me not to stop the BC...was anyone else on BC during surgery?
  16. I'm scheduled for surgery around the time I should get my period. I'm on BC, I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to skip the placebo pills and go straight to another pack so I don't have a period. Has anyone had surgery during your menstrual cycle? I heard you can't take levonex, the anti blood clot medicine during your period....I don't know what to do.
  17. I'm not allowed any actual chicken or meat. Just clear liquids, broth, protein shakes, SF jello, SF Popsicles, yogurt and milk. But I'm not a big fan of dairy products. It keeps sending before I finish what I'm typing! Haha anyways, I'd like to thank you all for your replies and look forward to trying some of your ideas!
  18. I haven't had lapband surgery yet, but I have an extremely sensitive gag reflux too (I can't even brush my teeth lately without dry heaving), I'm scared it might get worse and/or irritate my lapband in the future! I know how you feel! I hope you can find something that helps, or if anybody else out there has any suggestions. For me, I just plug my nose in smelly situations, switched to a kids tooth brush and kids tooth paste and I recommend eating slowly, taking small bites and chew real well. Also, maybe instead of three regular meals, eat 4 smaller meals. Try not to eat right before entering the restroom, taking out the garbage, brushing your teeth, cooking, cleaning, etc. just eat afterwards! If not, give yourself at least two hours to digest the food before doing those activities. Good luck!
  19. What were your favorite soups/broths/jellos/puddings/Popsicles/etc?
  20. Very nice checklist! I hope you dont mind if I use too! I especially like the Kellogg's protein mixes!
  21. Aww I'm glad that it was easy and that you got it done with! Im terrified of needles!
