  1. It is great that you are thinking ahead! I know I can't eat breakfast, so I usually have a Protien shake every morning. Lunch just depends. I hVe been back to work after summer for almost a month now. Sometimes I can eat and sometimes I cant. When I can't, I drink a premade meal replacement so i wont get dizzy or weak from low blood sugar. You will be fine!
  2. Another thing I hVe done is keep a premade protein shake like Adkins in my office. That way if I can't eat, I just drink and it holds me over til I get off work.
  3. I am an ESE teacher in FL. I can't eat much at work either. The good thing is that I don't have much time!
  4. My dr Said 1-2 lbs a week also. It is faster in the beginning, but mine has slowed. Still losing a lb a week though. At least in not gaining and my body is changing. I am exercising so I am getting more firm and going down in sizes even if the scale isn't moving much.
  5. The whole staff there with me were men!!!! Even the nurses!
  6. I screamed and cried and fought! I remember then telling me I had to be still or I would hurt myself!
  7. Yes guys and this is the best decision I have made about my health! I teach children who are physically handicapped. There is a lot of lifting and moving involved. I work up a sweat tht pipit the day. I feel stronger than I have ever been on this particular job. I can tell a real difference. I am still worn out at the end of the day, but i also feel stronger and have more endurance!
  8. I am a school teacher and just started my new year. I had surgery 6/14 and am down 32 lbs. I was happy that a couple people at work noticed and said positive things about it! It always helps when I am feeling a little down or feel like I should have tried harder to lose more faster.
  9. Thanks everyone!! I may try to detox from carbs for a week or so and slowly add good carbs back. I just feel like I need some sort of kick start again. I have been stuck on one spot for over a week.
  10. Ooooohhhh! I had my worst stuck episode ever yesterday on white meat chicken reheated! I will NEVER do that again!!!
  11. That helps. I honestly don't think I could do it forever with the band, when I couldn't stay on it before! My dr was always the one that would preach low carb everything all these years that I have been overweight. Then I did it for a year solid after having my son 6 years ago. I looked great and lost a ton of weight but my liver went haywire. That was the only thing we could figure it was. It was so disheartening. I went off it and ultimately 6 years later I was my highest weight ever! I will give it a try and mate just have a few carbs. What kind of carbs do you add in?
  12. Have don't low carb (south beach, Adkins) in the past successfully. Of course I always gain back. Once I was also on Adkins for over a year and it threw my liver out of whack so I got scared to do it seriously again. My problem is that I was banded June 14. I lost about 20 lbs including pre op diet. However, I gained 5 lbs on vacation. I have lost that five lbs, but have now been stuck at 222 give or take a lb for a couple of weeks. I am exercising and tracking what I eat. I got my first fill and was hopeful that would kick it into gear, but it hasn't. After struggling with low carb in the past, I am fearful that I will have a hard time with it now. Is it easier with the band? Also, should I forget about counting the calories if I am doing low carb with the band?
  13. Maybe you need a fill. Also kick up the exercise a little bit. Try to control te way you are EAting. I know it's hard, but we still have to have some control.
