What's more important, water or protein?
Your protein liquids count towards your 64oz of water.

Food
It's so hard to pin point the culprit in the early months. I went through lots of that and never really determined the food or cause...I carried zofran with me everywhere..I remember the hurried craze I would be in trying to get that zofran in my mouth before I threw up. Talk with your Dr and make sure all is well and then just try and get that zofran. I wish you the best.

Well Happy Birthday...next birthday you will need to celebrate twice to make up for this birthday!! Those meds dehydrate you too so going in for a birthday bag of fluids is a wise decision. Demand for them to give you some versed (sp?) in your iv for your birthday lol my anesthesiologist told me its like the fun of 10 margaritas without the calories or hangover. I hope the culture comes back ok! Youre in my thoughts <3- Looking for inspiration while i heal my leak! Photos?

If you are cleared for foods then eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Only shakes for breakfast and lunch is like a pre op diet. It's not neccesary post op. Eat your breakfast, get full then carry a water bottle with you until lunch. Eat lunch, get full and carry water til dinner And eat dinner etc If you get hungry in between, eat nuts, cheese cubes, or small yogurt. You can do this...even if you like to eat as I do, we eat so little at a time that if we keep it healthy we will lose the weight. Stop weighing yourself and take one day at a time. Next time you want chicken nuggets that's fine just eat grilled nuggets. Even 10 eaten through out the day is on program. It's a healthy protein. Don't feel like you can't do this because you can...please keep reaching for help. We all need it and we are here for you!!! Stay strong!!!<3- You can gain weight after VSG.
Read the first article...I have had uncontrolled high blood pressure since my 20's Since my weight loss my blood pressure is great. I was also pre diabetic and walking around with high blood sugar levels way way too long. That too is now "normal range" So this surgery has been a blessing for me. It is fair to say it has saved my life. Now if I could just figure out this kidney ordeal and what I should eat- You can gain weight after VSG.
Thank you so much for that information. I stress everyday with what I "should" eat now. I want to stay healthy hence this dramatic surgery but now I surely need my kidneys and the pain from that stent yikes so that scares me too. I know I am not the "norm" so finding information is hard. What's so frustrating is most drs I've seen lately have no clue about gastric sleeve guidelines. I have had chronic kidney problems all my adult life but nothing to this degree. I just want to do whatever keeps me healthy. Thank you so much for the info!!- 5 Confessions (Join In)
I third that!!! Oh I would love to have had this tool at 18 and lived my life a "normal" size. Congrats!!!- Am I ever going to be normal?
There is a healing period and an adjustment time, it varies from person to person but most people are eatting normal by a year out. You won't take in as much but you will be eatting pretty normal.- before an after
I love that!!! I'm telling my husband he better build me one!!!- before an after
You look great!!! And I have to ask, is that a dresser built into the wall?- Honest opinions Please!
Oh yes definitely so much smaller! Congrats on your weight loss that's great work!!!- I feel out of control
Amy, don't beat yourself up about what you eat pre-surgery. We all have head hunger and real hunger and pre-surgery we have the room in our stomaches to eat it. Post surgery the head hunger is still hard but its different because we have no where to put the food so we learn over time that food doesn't control us anymore because we have been sleeved. Do not be hard on yourself especially don't feel embarassed here because we ALL obvious have one thing in common and that is an issue with food consumption. I pray things work out for you and I look forward to your happy success story!!- goooaaaaallll...
I forgot to add that yes I had many stalls and lots of frustration until I realised every pound is adding up and I'm losing not gaining. I had stalls and then I would drop several pounds unexpectedly. Don't let the scale control you, follow your plan and you will be successful <3 - I Have A Leak In My Gastric Sleeve!
