I used to love go go out and dance for hours on the weekends and I was damn good at it! I used to have guys dancing with me all the time!
Well I stopped going because the more weight I gained the more it hurt and the more I would get Charlie horses while dancing and that doesn't feel good in your back! It really makes me sad that I don't go out anymore but 6 months from now I bet I will! Come on July 25th!!!
I can't wait to lose enough to feel comfortable enough to get back out and have fun again!

Another newbie here! Sleeved on 7/17. Married to my wonderful wife since 2010 and she's now expecting our first baby (due in November). Very difficult to follow a liquid diet when your beloved is scarfing down Bagels in front of you. She's a hormonal nutcase and I'm cranky from hunger - we're quite the pair. So glad to find other LGBT folks here!

For those of us in the gay community, I just don't want to be considered a "bear" anymore. "Bears" are guys who are large and hairy.

That will be an AWESOME accomplishment! So happy that you are going to be able to do all that!

I like you have been overweight since grade school! I can't wait to be able to wear normal size clothes, shop ANYWHERE I DAMN WELL PLEASE!! Not have to ask to ORDER something in my size, or go into American Eagle and not find anything and have to go home and order it online since they don't carry for 40 or 42 in the store! Life is going to change so much for us and I absolutely can't wait! What a world it will be! Watch out for me is all I can say!

I can't wait to be able to buy jeans from The Buckle again! They don't sell fat people jeans and they are the best fitting jeans in the world(IMHO).
I can't wait to be able to wear a 32 size jean, and a large or medim shirt! Oh lord how good will that feel!

I'm leaving for Louisiana about 11am today! I need to go to sleep but I can't sleep idk im just so excites to be going with my bestie back to her house in Louisiana or what but I just can't sleep!
We're going to New Orleans On Sunday and stayin the night, excited to do that before surgery!
Anyway, wanted to check in since I haven't been on in.a few days!
I'll make sure I get on the day of surgery and after surgery to update!

Great post!!! It is definitely a new life, and a chance at lift at that!! We're so lucky bc so many will never get this opportunity and we do! I know I feel very blessed!!

Wow! Sounds like you just have all kinds of unsupportive people around you! Girl you keep your head high! You do what you need to do to make YOU happy!
I just want to say in really sorry your going through this but you just keep moving along with it! Your gonna be so happy once you have your surgery! I'm 6 days away from surgery and so dang excited!

Ok so I'm having surgery out of state, in Louisiana where my best friend lives and will help care for me after surgery.
I know the first week I can't drive back bc I have an an appt at 1 week out anyway. And then again at 1 month so I'm thinking of staying the entire month anyway.
Anyway I have a 9 hour drive back to Ga and I'm thinking it'll be at least 2 weeks before I can take such a long trip, especially driving myself, if not longer?
I'll talk to the Dr about this Monday but wanted to get someone else's input that maybe has experience?

totally agree with you jlewis, i know there are guys that want to date me but not necessarily the ones i am attracted to. i know im a good person, funny, confident, smart but i'm also fat!! and i know when my weight comes off my options will broaden. i dont think its right but it is reality!

This is not all that true! Let's Face it, most people are attracted first by the way you look! They don't know your personality by looking at you! They don't decide to give you their phone # after seeing your personality lol

I did give them the date. They say it wasn't done. I have a receipt bc I'm a cash pay patient, so I've PAID for this test! I will not pay again. Their screw up not mine!
