I actually pulled a couple of stitches out that worked their way to the surface. I just used tweezers and it wasn't a big deal. If it's painful, leave it alone, but do keep it clean and dry. It will either dissolve or work it's way further out. You might want to call your doctor, just to make yourself feel better.

Same here, I think the stress of the surgery, lingering effects of the anesthesia, massive caloric shortfall, rapid weight loss and system kicking into ketosis ALL conspire to throw our metabolism - and therefore our mental state - into a tizzy.
I second the suggestion of seeking out a professional, as well as a good friend that you can just sit down and have a good cry, or two or three with too.
I wish you the best, you WILL get over it, but expect bouts of it from time to time as your body adjusts. Good luck girl.

I can relate. I think we all go through it. This is a huge change and we are out of our comfort zone. It was easy to grab a box of Cookies, sit on the couch and watch a movie. That was what we are used to, but now we can't do that. It is really hard to adjust, but it really does get better. Hang in there and know we are here for ya

I too am just a month out from surgery. I have lost 32 pound since my March 28th pre-op. Since surgery, after the first week after surgery, I too feel like the loss is crawling. I was having a pity party myself and my mom (banded in 09) reminded me it's not a sprint, its a marathon. The doctor warned my mom that there would be some post-op depression issues and questioning why I did what I did. A life long problem of mine is that I always question whether I am good enough or doing good enough. I think we all face the issues surrounding why is this so slow, BUT when you think about it, when's the last time you lost that much weight in that short of a time period?
We can do this!! One day at a time.

CantBelieve_IdidIit! reacted to Tibbie in It's Been A Month....
Wow - okay - first thing you need to do is pull yourself up out of the pity party. And I apologize, I hate to be mean and don't want to be insensitive. But you need to get a hold of yourself sweetie! This is a TOOL to help you loose the weight. Everyone looses at a different pace - and keeping yourself positive goes a long way in helping with that. All that being said, are you getting in the required liquids, Protein, etc? If you are and you are getting some good walking in, etc. The weight will start to come off. And 17 pounds is nothing to cry about!! Your attitude right now may be part of the problem. I'm so sorry you are having such a horrible time with this - but try to get yourself together and follow your eating plan to the tea - exercise and you will start to see the weight drop off.

CantBelieve_IdidIit! got a reaction from Looking Ahead in Arkansas Sleevers
Hello Arkies...I grew up in Little Rock & Springdale. My husband & I are military so have lived all over the world. Currently in the SW Mo area, soon to be central Georgia and the onto Cambridge England again. (lived there 11 years for a few tours over the years Hense my pic of Hyacinth, love her!
I was sleeved April 24th, so 4 weeks out. Finally feeling nearly human, really struggled with food and the Protein Shakes intake. Are us excited? x

Because you're Mrs. Bucket? (It's Bouquet!)
I've seen others have the same issue. Just edit your profile, delete the tickers and copy the code in again.

Just think of my situation/problem. I'm retired law enforcement & think how hard it is for me to give up donuts. LOL. There's a joke in there somewhere.
When I go grocery shopping, I have to steer clear of the bakery shop. Just the aroma throughout the store gets me going.
Good luck to you & God bless.

CantBelieve_IdidIit! got a reaction from simplyQuel in Caloric Intake Is It Too Low
Hello! I too am only getting 500 or less calories...my nutritionist says keep up on the Protein Shakes as well as intrducing new Proteins everyday..trying to keep 2 oz of it each setting. They dont seem worried, but I wonder if I am losing muscle too with such low intake. Also you and I are nearly exact on start weight and loss...my VSG was April 24, 12! Good luck hon!
