  1. Congrats and good luck with your surgery! Don't worry about sleep tonight, because you are going to get really good sleep during and after surgery =)
  2. Before surgery I didn't get to rest because like 10 different people come and talk to you. However after surgery I slept ALL day and woke up at 8:30 pm, which is why I am up now and haven't been able to sleep all night. My upper go test is supposed to be about 8 this morning then FINALLY I will get to sip water. Funny that I couldn't eat or drink anything today and my stomach isn't growling and I am not even a little hungry. i'm impressed by this surgery already!! You should be here now... Good luck again, and congrats on your new life!
  3. How funny!.... What time do you have to be here if you are still awake? I had to be here at 8am and got onto the operating table at 10:10am. Good luck and keep me posted!
  4. That's gotta be one of the best feelings.... I'll be waiting for your picture =)
  5. Linus..,lol. I promised myself as soon as I get too small for something it is getting donated since I NEVER want to go back up. The only thing i'm keeping is one of my biggest pair or Jeans because I hope one day that I can be like the people on commercials where you can stand in one pant leg!
  6. Omg wow. What a coincidence! We really are sleeve sisters!! I live in Davie (university and Griffin rd) but I got sleeved by Dr.Eckstein @ Hollywood bariatrics at memorial regional.
  7. Oh awesome! Have you already been sleeved? Maybe we can be work out buddies =)
  8. Surgery went well, however after a cesarean and a heart surgery, this is, without a doubt the worst pain I have ever experienced!! I am keeping my head up though because pain is only temporary but the results of this surgery will effect the rest of my life!! Where in south Florida are you from?
  9. Thanks so much! i'm up and leaving soon! My stomach is in knots, but I know this is going to be great! Will keep you posted when I am out of surgery!
  10. Thanks everyone!!! I'm hoping the clear fluids post op is a little easier and I am not completely famished. Someone on here posted that after surgery she had to wait 33 hours after surgery before even getting a sip of water due to a delay in her leak test. So, I am preparing myself for the worst but hoping for the best =)
  11. Just packed my bag for the hospital. I have to be at the hospital at 8am, so glad that it is so early. This clear liquid diet is a killer and I was afraid I would be waiting around till the afternoon. I was really nervous but I just got off the phone with a friend that I don't see very often, she said "the next time we get together you'll be a skinny Minnie" .... Just the thought of that being a possibility made me very excited!! Still so glad I found this forum a few Weeks ago, I,have learned so much and knew exactly what to put in my hospital bag!!
  12. I was trying to get the stuff for the eggface ice cream recipes. I can't find the sugar free syrups anywhere. Also I see a lot or posts about sugar free pudding mix to add to protein shakes and all I can find is plain vanilla. I know every store is different. So I thought if someone close by was able to find things I could drive to their locations =)
  13. Anyone from the South Florida area. I am in Davie but being sleeved in Hollywood Florida this Thursday 6/7 (i can hardly believe its almost here) I keep reading posts about people finding different "supplies" at Walmart, target etc. Every time I check I can't find any of the items mentioned. I thought local people would know what we have down here! If you have found any good products or good deals...
  14. The cheapest place I found to get stuff is www.supplementwarehouse.com and when you order from them you can add a lot of free stuff to your order but choose the free items wisely as it does raise the shipping cost. But I bought muscle milk light for $21 and it is $42 at gnc
  15. Congrats on your June Date!
  16. I'm on the 7th too!.. And I would love to be down 45 pounds by October!!... Hopefully you get past this mini stall quickly!!
  17. Chocolate coconut... That sounds delish! Someone in another thread said they mix nectar Caribbean cooler with coconut water and supposedly good.
  18. Oh I have a magic bullet and will try them blended with ice, after surgery I was told to only use a shaker cup since the blender would cause gas pains.. But good idea to get me through the 7 days =)
  19. Thanks I will try the sugar free pudding. I like Atkins shakes but by doctor specifically told me to avoid Atkins, ensure, slim fast etc since they have little protein, high calories, carbs or fat. Which is why they all taste yummy lol I bought muscle milk light that I am going to try for my next meal since that is ready to drink, and I bought two other brands of rtd to try. Only this one huge container of powder though lol.. I don't know why 2 lbs is the smallest container of protein powder! Thanks for the advice!
  20. my 7 day pre-op diet started today, for my surgery next Thursday. I am drinking my very first protein shake (pure protein French vanilla powder from sams mixed with unsweetened almond milk) already I am not a fan. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this stuff more tolerable?
  21. My surgery date is scheduled for June 7th in South Florida....I start my liquid diet on Thursday. I bought three different protein shakes and a lot of different flavors of sobe life zero and sugar free jello to not go completely crazy!! It's gonna suck but be worth it in the end!
