  1. Enterprise - what time were you there?? I was in today to write my check for my surgery with my youngest daughter (she's 4 and a little chatty Cathy).
  2. We are having surgery the same day. I will definitely pray for you as we embark on this journey.
  3. NurseAmy - We have the same surgery date. I wonder if we will be in the holding area together.
  4. I haven't told my kids. I have had two surgeries to remove adhesions from previous surgeries so I will probably tell them that I am having another one of those. My kids would regale their entire class with my surgery. I have only told my husband, mom, and best friend. I don't want alot of people "watching" me to see how well I do. Of course I haven't quite figured out how to hide the fact that I will be eating mushies for four weeks - guess I will have Soup when I have to eat with people that don't know.
  5. My surgery date is 3/12 and I am nervous too. I just went to see my PCP on Friday to talk to her about it and get some copies of my bloodwork that Dr. Spivak wants. The fact that my PCP was so supportive really helped. What exactly are you scared of??
  6. Applesauce - really?? I would think the baby food consistency would slide right down. I just found this thread. I am being banded on March 12th. My BMI is 54 - I am 5'9" and I weigh 366 right now although my highest weight was 386. Right now it is hard to imagine even being under 200 so I am not ready to pick a final goal weight yet.
  7. I have just a little more than a week before my surgery with Dr. Spivak. I took my mom to the seminar (she was the token unbanded skinny person in the room). My mom freaked out because there was so much that the lady couldn't eat. She imagined me on liquids for the rest of my life. I am pretty nervous but I really liked Dr. Spivak. This past week I have been stocking my house with the things I will need after surgery and it is becoming more real.
  8. I found out I have sleep apnea a couple of months ago. I love my CPAP machine - getting a good nights sleep has completely changed my life. I have the Mirage Swift nasal pillows - I can't even feel them.. Sleep like a baby and when I did my second night study with the machine I didn't move my legs at all - it was all related to the apnea. My surgery is March 12th - I am hoping that with the weight loss my apnea will resolve.
  9. My BMI is high - 54%. According to Dr. Spivak I am in excellent health despite my weight. blood pressure 110/60 and I don't have any of the fat diseases - diabetes, heart disease, etc. I also have been working out for the last year 5 times a week and have lost 35 lbs. His PA didn't say anything about any kind of diet - she just specifically said not to gain any weight and maintain my current weight loss up to my surgery.
  10. I have my surgery in less than two weeks. I do not have to do a pre-op diet - Dr. Spivak just said to not gain any weight before surgery. But I have the strangest last meal thinking. I have been thinking about all the things I want to eat before my surgery. Almost like I used to do on Sunday before I started a new diet. For all of you already banded - did you have the same urge?
  11. I am getting banded by Dr. Spivak on the 12th of March. I really loved him and his staff. I am self pay also and excited to get the show on the road.
  12. I have my surgery scheduled for 3/12/07. I am a self pay so everything has gone more quickly than expected. I have thought about this for a long time and researched extensively but I am terribly nervous. I loved Dr. Spivak and feel really comfortable with him. I have been haunting this board and reading all the FAQ's and suggestions (trying to stay away from complications) - I don't want to scare myself.
