Anyone Getting Banded In July?
I have had surgery in the past(tonsils, hesterectomy, gall bladder)they normally give me Valuim( or something similar) it doesn't knock me out but it does make me relax I pretty much don't care what's going on around me . If it's your first surgery or you feel extra nervous just ask and they will give it to you Now I have had enough surgeries to not need it( although sometimes they just give it to you anyways) once they start the IV you fall asleep and wake up and everything is done. I normally don't even know what happened until I start to move around alittle don't worry

Band Vs Banded Gastric Plication Technique..... Weightloss
This is what my surgeon wants to perform on me he said he gas has great success rate with the patients he has done so I'm thinking yes and he isn't charging anything extra they need the numbers high so they have actual stats after a few years to suppose the success and eventually the insurance companies will support the procedure

I Just Might Be Ready This Time....
My Dr told me that is the procedure he would like to perform for me. I was a little spooked at first and I worry with it so new will my insurance approve it. someone else posted that her insurance paid for the lapband surgery but the plication the surgeon did on his own I guess a lot of the surgeons are trying to really get the plication numbers. I feel more comfortable knowing that it can be reversed if I have complications. I am thinking my surgeon is going to do the same he has done them before. I have anthem BCBS and he has to know that they wouldn't approve anything experimental. thanks for the information

Clothes Are Loose But Scale Is Not Moving
just a thought you might be losing fat at the same time as you are gaining muscle(the weight training)muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less space(dense fibers) so you will look slimmer but the scale might not show it just a thought. If you need verification(more than looser clothing) start taping different areas of you body every week (a month is even better)

Surgery 6/20/12
CONGRATS!!>>>Sandra welcome to bandland I am glad that you are doing very well get some rest and I hope you have a speedy recovery

Wow...wow.....wow
I think this is what my Dr is doing I think my insurance is paying for the Lapband(if approved we summit next month) but the plication is his doing Although he has been doing bariactric surgery for years he is trying to get our hospital certified as a center of excellence in bariatirc surgery and they have certian numbers they have to meet so I'm thinking the plication is extra to met the numbers he needs. I am relieved to read that it is reversable if it doesn't turn out well. Good Luck

Wow...wow.....wow
WOW that looks wild I wonder if my insurance will pay if its a new procedure. everything I read says you lose weight faster and don't have the absorbtion problems like the gastric bypass and sleeve keep me posted on how you are doing I was happy to see that on your post since my Dr just talk to me about it. When he told me my eyes were round as saucers but he promised me all would be well and he has done them before......

Wow...wow.....wow
Hi I see that you have a band with plication that is what my Dr is wanting to do. Does your stomach feel different? you are just now eating Solids did it hurt when the Solid hit you stomach? I know these questions are crazy but when he said that it kind of spooked me a little. Do you know the difference between the sleeve and the plication?
-
I Just Might Be Ready This Time....
wow I was wondering if after eating differently for so long it it just "stuck" only in a dream world I guess. That little band is with us forever. My Dr wants to do a band with plication do you know what the differnece is between the sleeve and plication?

Newbie From Tulsa, Oklahoma--Hi Y'all!!!
You are going to have days, sometime weeks when you are pro surgery and con surgery you can make a list for both sided only you know whats best but REALLY think if you have any other way that you haven't tried that will work if not this is the route to go I have tried so many times and I know this is best for me but just know everyone goes through days like that all the way up to surgery(from the post that I've read) I read everything I can get my hands on about WLS and 99% of the time the person says it was the best thing that they ever did even with complications at the end they say they would have done it all over again. Good luck with your decison

thatwas always the case for me it is made to increase your metabolism to make you burn more caloires than normal and it supresses your apetite I would lose really good for about a month and then I would not take them for one week( work to maitain the loss) then I would start again as I said I like them and I was successful but my blodd pressure made me no longer a candidate even with me losing wieght my BP would just spike
