As long as you Are replacing the food with
the muscle milk that is fine. If you are drinking 300 calories plus eating 1000 calories you might want to cut back.

I use Isopure zero carb Dutch chocolate or Cookies and Cream and them both taste yummy! 50grms of Protein 2 scoops and 2 cups of Milk Plus altogether gives me my 72 grams of protein. This is the best protein I have found (I've tried alot) but I have to order it from Supplement
Warehouse.com but they are not too expensive and they give me a free shaker every time I order so Its the cheaper way for me.

Sharon's last chance reacted to Lissa in 40 Inch Bougie!
Enid, Are you short? Our height affects the size of our sleeve as much as, maybe more than, the bougie size. A tall person, like me at 5'8, is going to have more capacity in the long run than a 5'0" tall person. That's because I have a longer stomach than a shorter person would have.
If you're short, your doctor may have used a larger bougie in order to give you the same stomach capacity I get from a 32 bougie.
BTW, the bougie is more of a guide for the surgeon's tool than anything else. The anesthetist runs the bougie tube down through your stomach and the surgeon uses it as a cutting guide. There are a couple of good videos that have been posted that are NOT of actual surgery. I watched them post-op and they are very interesting as far as understanding what has been done to us. Search for the word bougie and video on the main page and it will hopefully show you those posts.

Sharon's last chance reacted to MinaKai in 12 Days Post Op And Swollen
I had my sleeve done July 12, 2012 and I've pretty much been in the hospital ever since. I'm unable to keep down liquids and the Dr is saying my stomach is still swollen too tight. I'm being sent home today with steroids and antacids via picc line IV. Docs are saying the swelling should go down with the steroids as they are trying to avoid going back to do a revision surgery (rny). Has anyone experienced this? I'm just praying the swelling will go down and I can at least get liquids down. I'll be seeing my Dr in his office next Tuesday July 31st and the hope is the swelling would've gone down where they can do an edg with dilation or even better won't have to do a scope at all. I'm so nervous and scared. I'd also like to mention I went from lapband to sleeve.

I have very fine hair too. After it started falling out in handfuls, I decided to get it cut to try to minimize the look of the thinning and so that I wouldn't notice it falling out as much. I was the same as you...wanted short hair but didn't want to cut my hair while I had a chubby face. There are so many great things to the sleeve!

If your having trouble sleeping on your back but not ready for side or stomach, try putting a pillow behind (under) your knees. That works for me and I haven't gone back to side sleeping. Good luck!

So..I know I've posted a few threads since my surgery 7/17, but this is just something else I'm wondering about.
What position was/is the easiest to sleep in? I have always either slept on my stomach, or sides..now I've been on my back and I HATE it. I try to prop up on pillows and every little way to be comfy, but NO help!
This is during the healing time, btw.

The gurgling and grunting were my favorite part lol. It is normal. Yes still eat. It will calm down a lot over the next couple of weeks. You're tummy is going to be sore for a bit. Mine was only a week or so, some I see a few weeks out are still hurting. Just take your pain meds when needed. Lastly, the BM... Mine was a week. Milk of Magnesia and Miralax are real good friends of mine. They should help you a lot. Congrats.

Thanks, Giselle! BTW, speaking of hot, I'm having honest to goodness hot flashes for the last three days, alternating with cold chills. I have dressed and undressed so many times today that I finally put on my thinnest dress and put my bathrobe on my chair behind me so I can just pull it on when I get cold. The cold doesn't last long either! Whew! I hope it's menopause and not some kind of bug!

I am sure I have had the "Flatbread Crisps" but I don't recall where I got them.
Do you not find Cheez-Its to be a slider?
I am trying to steer towards the whole grain crackers, and I really want to make my own. I need to google that. I have a Pasta maker that would probably be better used making cracker dough.

You're losing. That's the important thing, right? How much and when are less important than the fact that you're losing. Try some of these things for the obsessing:
    1. Write down the ruminating thought(s). Those repetitious phrases that echo round & round in your head, write them down.
    2. On a scale of 1 to 100, rate how much you believe the thought to be true. (1 not at all, 100, totally)
    3. Under that thought, write down anything - anything at all - that contradicts the thought.
    4. Now write down as a percentage how much you struggled with these kind of thoughts before surgery & wls.
    5. Carefully re-read everything you've written, and come to a conclusion about the repetitious thoughts.
    6. Re-rate their accuracy based on the objective information you've gathered.
    7. Visualize yourself shrinking the thought(s) into their proper perspective in relation to the truth of your life.
It takes mindfulness, but it works.
Lastly, I'd suggest you see a nutritionist if you're not already to discuss the "Always having a Gatorade in my hand" thing. Maybe this could maybe be translated into something more helpful (and healthful). You could also change up your exercise routine a bit (there's great suggestions in that forum) and you could try SuperBetter (as an app if you've got an iPhone or iPad, or online at www.superbetter.com if not) for encouragement and support.
Keep at it... setbacks and stalls are not failure. Giving up is.
