  1. I use canned chicken with a little light mayo and wasa crackers. It's also good on wheat tortillas pizza style. Tuna with light mayo and hard boiled egg whites is good too.
  2. I too love the salmon which I never ate before . I make chicken stew with kidney white and black beans. Veggie burgers (Morningstar) with orowheat thins instead of buns and cottage cheese, ground turkey and tofu tossed in spinach pasta (if u can eat pasta) u can also add tofu to soup stew and salads for a protein boost. Lunches I will eat one slice of rye or a thins, topped with turkey tomatoes and avocado. Usually followed by Greek yogurt. If I don't have time for breakfast I keep a stash of protein bars on hand so I can grab and go
  3. I love the attention. I was over 400 pounds and I do look way different and those compliments just remind me that I am making a change so big everyone can see it. Bring on the compliments cause it's only logical I look better without 2 chins 2 cheeks and size 40W pants !
  4. I would check your gallbladder that's howine started and I found out it was my gallbladder not the band or stuck food it will keep happening if it's your gallbladder
  5. I just hit my first plateau one pound away from my hundred I have been stuck for a month. Changing up my calories this week to see if I can get restarted
  6. I can't eat oranges at all and apples I can do yellow apples with peel but all other apples I peel. All other fruits go down fine I eat grapes strawberries watermelon (yes it's a squash lol I know) nectarines bananas all go fine tolerance is individual but oranges are a common problem with bandsters
  7. 9 out of ten times they get stuck its like white bread. Wheat are better corn is perfect I never get stick with corn. Some things work for some and not others just don't experiment in public lol!
  8. Foods that pass easily through the band and don't make you feel full. They can also be high in fat and calories. Like ice cream mashed potatoes shakes puddings etc
  9. I also snack fruit cheese sticks fiber one bar etc I keep it healthy my weight loss is steady and I don't feel deprived
  10. Jake it is true if I drop below 1,000 calories my weight loss stalls if stay between 1100 to 1300 I lose an average of two pounds a week. Everybody is different but it worked for me 100 pounds so far!
  11. Watery fruit like watermelon and strawberries minimal calorie damage and makes you feel so full. Also special k with fat free milk is my go to snack. Cheese sticks and fat free milk. Fiber one bar and a cup of coffee is good too ...
  12. Enjoy Disneyland Steal my daughters American eagle jeans to get revenge for her snatching my jewelry lol Running in the zombie apocolypse Better sex with hubby Riding the bike and not busting a lung Crossing my legs Living to see my kids graduate, marry and admit I was right about everything
  13. The band alone is very effective ( in my personal experience) at controlling appetite and portions I started at over 400 pounds so I get insane eating . You will still have to make good food choices and get active but if u really want it you can do it with the band and no plication hang in there and if plication is that important find another surgeon
  14. I agree gas just seems to be the norm I am 7 months out and my stomach is like my husbands and he has gastritis so toot away lay off the fiber when you are not in the comfort of home and keep the gas x handy I believe it is inescapable
  15. I do the pita too with skim mozzarella spinach and mushrooms it's really good it gets the pizza craving satisfied without the guilt . My kids love it too we call it make ur own pizza night of course they have pepperoni and pineapple as well as veggies to play with
  16. I am lost.... Never heard of it I need to google it lol
  17. You have to make you time. I get up a half hour earlier than I really need to and have hot tea or coffee and then after my shower I have breakfast. The extra sleep is missed but my appetite spikes later in the day if I skip breakfast and if I don't drink a hot beverage food gets stuck every morning. The band is still a little tight at lunch but by dinner I can eat normally. Jasmine green tea is a great one to try.
  18. I count my calories and also try to avoid excessive carbs and sugar but I agree there are times where a need for sweet can be powerful for me it's during my cycle. I also occasionally enjoy a piece of dark chocolate. I also get fiber one 90 calorie brownies and make sure it fits into my calorie intake for the day. It knocks my craving out and doesn't destroy all my hard work but in general if your sweet tooth is daily rather than periodic you may just have to look at it as a habit you have to let go of to succeed. I know it's hard even being banded it takes work but you can do it just think of all you have gone through to change your life
  19. My surgeon and nutritionist said the same stretches the pouch causes gas pain and is generally not healthy I am happy not to take the risk
  20. Occasional wine and skinny girl cocktails are good
  21. I take two gummies multivitamins one calcium one b-12 subliminal two iron pills day. I also take biotin as my hair was falling out and it freaked me out a bit. When I don't take them I feel it especially my iron the fatigue sets in like a plague. Everyone is different though so check with ur doc in the iron
  22. Cook meats slow in a crock pot they are moist tender and easy to break down steam veggies and I stay with multiple grain cracked wheat or rye breads. I prefer rye lightly toasted it doesn't get stuck and it's only 70 calories a slice. I also eat veggie burgers and soy burgers and deli chicken breast. For lunch I will have canned chicken breast light mayo and wasa crackers or one slice toasted rye smeared with a wedge of weight watchers cheese and some turkey breast and I eat it like a pizza. dinner sautéed chicken breast with garlic olive oil and seasonings with stead veggies. Occasionally I will have a little cous cous or brown rice but it fills u up fast with little protein value so I don't make a habit of it. Breakfast is either two eggs with a slice of rye or special k with a banana and nonfat milk. Well that was long winded but I hope it helps:) it takes time to discover what works for you that u enjoy get creative. My rules are no whites (white bread rice flour etc) no sweets no sliders (ice cream etc) and I minimize carbs and I am a dreaded calorie counter. I was banded in nov and I am 100 pounds down. Just remember we are all different get creative and experiment .
  23. If diets worked for us then none of us would have gotten big enough to need the surgery. You do what's right for u. I am almost 8 months out 100 pounds down and if I had to have it out tomorrow I wouldn't have one shred of regret! Just follow the rules and enjoy the change it is amazing
  24. You are so welcome! I just put a little water garlic onions and seasoning and roast on low. I even did it with tilapia and lemon pepper seasoning. Desperation made me creative lol I bought a double crock and I put meat in one and veggies and cous cous in the other so dinner is done all at once. Did I mention I was lazy ?
  25. Crock pot the meat slow cook all day. Pork shoulder chicken and roasts. It's never dry and couldn't be more tender!
