Doctor No Longer Doing Plication :(

Hey everyone,

I got an email today from my surgery coordinator, she told me my Dr. is no longer doing lapband with the plication at this moment. She said he has had problems with it and wants to do more research before doing anymore. Now I dont know what to do, I have wanted the lapband with plication from day one! I am not sure the lapband will be enough alone, and I dont wanna do it if it wont have the same results...Grrrr, she said he will still do the lapband or he is gonna talk about more options at my next app. This def just ruined my day!

The band alone is very effective ( in my personal experience) at controlling appetite and portions I started at over 400 pounds so I get insane eating . You will still have to make good food choices and get active but if u really want it you can do it with the band and no plication :) hang in there and if plication is that important find another surgeon

Thanks, its just hard because I have been planning on it for five months, and only have 1 more month left and now I have to make a big decision again. Julie, Plication is where you have a lapband, and then they fold your stomach over in half and staple it to where it basically looks and acts like the gastric sleeve except they don't cut any of the actual stomach out. Its supposed to help you lose more weight faster and feel fuller longer. It also helps prevent band slippage

You can probably find another Dr to do plication if you really, really want it. I'm sure your supervised diet can also be transferred.
