Gastricsleeve4me got a reaction from Parker's Dad in Pepperoni Pizza Bites
I'd posted about the flatout bread pizza I'd made a few days ago. I had leftover cheese, pepperoni, and pizza sauce so decided to make pizza bites. Recipe and nutritional info on my blog at http://gastricsleeve4me.blogspot.com/2012/08/pizza-bites.html. Yum!

Gastricsleeve4me got a reaction from Tammy310 in Isopure- Liquid Protein
You can buy singles at Vitamin Shoppe in the cooler area. People have strong reactions to different flavors to strongly suggest that you get one of several flavors and try them out. If you find one you like, then you can buy more. I found them to be a lifesaver early on...haven lost any hair at nearly four months out. I may still lose it, but attribute lack of loss so far as being religious about getting lots and lots of Protein in the early days. Even if I didn't "like" the flavor of something

Gastricsleeve4me got a reaction from RawrrAshleex3 in Flatout Pizza
I'd posted previously about my love of flatout bread. Last night I cut one in half and made buffalo chicken on one half (wing sauce, canned chicken, cheddar cheese, sprinkling of ranch dressing packet) and sausage/pepp on the other (prego pre made pizza sauce, leftover sausage, turkey pepperoni, and four cheese pizza blend). At 8 weeks I could only eat 1/6 of a flatout...now I can do about a quarter, but am stuffed (e.g., what you see in pic is four meals)

Gastricsleeve4me got a reaction from lilly's journey in Dating With My Sleeve ;)
I suppose you do what's comfortable for you. But, for me, I stay silent on it all together for a while. They don't know the "you" before...so you don't have to introduce them I avoid dates surrounding food and recommend coffee, a drink (where I may or may not drink alcohol). If they ask about food I say I had a big lunch, aren't hungry, etc. once you get farther out you can eat, but won't eat as much and can use the same excuses. Good luck!

Gastricsleeve4me got a reaction from amykins in Considering Mexico...
I was a huge skeptic about Mexico. It seemed crazy. But I researched, talked to surgeons, read the boards, asked questions - and ended up so comfortable that, when it turned out insurance might cover me in the US after all, I high tailed it to Mexico anyway. Dr. Aceves, and incredibly pleased - but everyone seems to pretty much love their Mexican surgeons so you have lots of great options. Honestly, they're so used to people just reaching out for info, I would just try shooting off a few emails with the questions you want to get answered as a start. My blog (link in signature) has a tab at the top with the questions I emailed if it's helpful. Best of luck!

Flatout has a website...maybe they say where they sell it? Low carb wheat tortillas are close in nutritional value. Not quite as god as the flatout lite, but close.

Glad you found it helpful! Best of luck with everything...definitely try out different Protein powders. Everyone is different in their tastes, that's for sure! Some people really hate Isopure, lol. So try to always get mini versions to try first. Good luck with surgery! You're only 11 weeks behind me and I'm down nearly 50lbs...that'll be you soon too

Gastricsleeve4me got a reaction from lessofmeismore in Flatout Bread
Found a new fave item at the grocery store this week...flatout bread (light original). Great for pizzas, wraps, etc. I wrote a blog post about it, including a brief discussion on comparing the nutritional info on the various options in the flatout bread line. Anyway, I can only eat 1/6 of one (with toppings) at the moment (9 weeks out) - nutritional info attached. I'm going to post separately about Taco pizza I made using them last night.

I loved it before and have no probs now. I'm six weeks out and been using plenty of hot sauce, wing sauce, etc. made enchiladas last night with trader joes enchilada sauce (has a nice kick) and no issues.
