  1. Hello everyone ! I'm new to the lap band process my first appointment is Friday and I meet with the nutritionist tomorrow. I am trying to lose weight on my own before my surgery just to get in the swing of things and I am failing miserably I feel like such a loser. I try so hard to control my eating but It's really hard some days I do go other I don't. I do however get to the gym atleast THREE times a week it's kind of hard I have 3 jobs and a four month old. sorry just needed to let this out thanks for listening

  6. Wow ! What an amazing story & a inspiration to us all. High blood pressure and diabetes runs in my family. I have a four month old daughter and I want to be around for her entire life! I'm ready for this journey .
  7. Hi! & welcome. I am new here also. I have not been banded yet I'm still in the early stages of the process. are the protein shakes the only thing your taking in? what foods are you eating ? are your eating habits good? If you have only lost 21 lbs I'm guessing there's something wrong going on in your diet. if you give more info I'd love to give some suggestions
  8. Thank you all. I will be sure to keep you updated! I am excited to read all of your updates as well .
  9. Hi! I am new to the process too! my first appt is May 18th. I am excited. It's nice to have a place to talk about something we are all going thru together that people in our lifes may not understand
  10. I am new here. I found this forum a while ago when I was still researching the lap band. I have been reading ever since. it is very informative and I finally decided to join a few days ago. I still debated whether or not I was going to post or just read. I decided wth I'll just post. so here's my story : I've struggled with weight my entire life. I have tried every diet and failed miserably. In Januray of 2011 I decided it was time for a change. I joined the gym and started eating right. By March I was down 40lb. I was 196 . I couldn't remember the last time I was under 200. In April I found out I was expecting my first child. with the pregnancy I gained 74 lbs and fell back into old eating habits again. My daughter is now four months old (and she is such a joy:))and I am 264 and 5'6. I find myself struggling so hard getting this weight off. I've tried everything. I have been researching the lap band since 2011 and now I am finally getting serious about it. I know it's not a magic fix and it's a tool. I know that I will be able to use this tool to change my life. I have the will power and the determination to lose this weight and become healthy. My goal weight would be 150-160. I went to the seminar may 2nd. My first appointment with the nutritionist is May 17 and my consultation with the doctor and his team is May 18th! I excited and ready to start this journey!
