I've been holding off telling my dad because he I know his reaction will be bad and that's exactly what it was. He told me the usual "your not that big" ...he even told me that he hoped the insurance denies me. I know he's just scared but it hurts not to have his support. Thank God I have a loving husband who supports me 100%

Hello and welcome. I also have July 30th as my surgery date. So far i have all mu apprs done and just need my last nutrition appt, on July 13th, then everything can be submitted to insurance. Im super excited...waiting is like torture!

Im fairly new at the process too. I went to my first appt on May 4th and have been trying to get all my requirements filled. I had my second mandatory nutrition appt today...one more to go and then we submit to insurance...im praying i get approved after all this prep

I also have BCBS of NJ and a BMI of 36. My comorbites are High Cholesterol and GERD. Do you think I will have a problem getting approved? Also what was it like dealing with BCBS NJ..what did they require from you to get approved? Thank you.
