  1. My husband is totally against it...so coworkers are my support system...thats why they know
  2. Just me talking from my experience so far. Im so self concious about my weight. A part of me is "ashamed" to tell someone I need surgery to get healthy. Its like they look at you like you are crazy. "You don't need surgery, just exercise more" and my dad...That's stupid to have surgery like that....just taking a chance of killing yourself and you don't need it..figure something else out." He said that when my daughter tried to do it. Hers fell thru due to insurance problems. I told my mom and she is a happy for me but sworn to secrecy till way later after my surgery. I told the 4 girls I work with and one guy...the guy said thats good as he looked me up and down. So as for me, I choose not to tell anyone. The journey in itself is hard enough without seeing disappointment or pity when they look at me. If I tell and I fail...it would be even worse.
  3. Im right there with ya. Ive been concerned all day about starting the preop diet tomorrow. I sorted all the preop diet shakes and soups and bars the dr sold to me to use for two weeks. Having them sorted out in seperate bags makes it easier for me. When the bag is empty, Im done. I have poweder eggs, soup, 2 bars and two shakes a day. That and sugar free jello and diet sodas...which I don't drink many sodas, that won't be an issue. I have my office drawer at work having SF hard candy. I hope I don't screw it up. I want this so bad I don't think I will but your mind still worrys thatyou do the preop diet and you get to surgery and they say no. Scared so much, Im lightheaded....Exicites so much I have the butterflies and pounding heart.
  4. My mom wants to go too...she's pouting because I said no. My husband will have no problem leaving.
  5. I start mine Monday, June 11...surgery in 2 weeks !
  6. When do you start your pre op diet? I start this Monday. Just 2 more weeks !!!
  7. I worry that they won't have any to fit my fat legs. Is this a leggit concern??
  8. I have never wanted anyone with me at the hospital..I usually tell them to drop me off at the door and pick me up at the door. I hate entertaining everyone around me. Plus If Im going to have gas like they say....Id rather have it alone !
  9. Im sure we will all be fine...I start my pre diet on Monday the 11th. I've lost13 lbs not on purpose but I ll take it since my consult date. So ready for this and to start losing ~can't wait to feel pretty and sexy in side and out! Sexy clothes , her I come !!
  10. Im having mine done in Jonesboro Arkansas
  11. I went to a pre surgery support group tonight and they dicussed this. If you have anything carbinated or caffiene and some foods certain people just can't tolerate again. They explained how you will learn what you can and cannot have anymore. They explain how the chest and shoulder pain is air or gas. Try walking after you eat and see if that helps. Hope you feel better soon.
  12. I bought my 2 week diet plan today from my Doctor. I thought it would be all liquids...nope. Its soups, shakes, eggs and bars. I don't think it will be too bad after all. I start next Monday morning. Stoked !
  13. I haven't had my surgery yet and didn't know if it would help make you feel full quicker. I was just curious.
  14. Has anyone tried Sensa and can you use it after the sleeve?
  15. Yes, I'll have to stop taking it this week. Destressing is out of the question. I could be more active but by the end of my 9hr workday, I'm too exauhsted to do anything much less on purpose. I know that sounds like an excuse but I hurt so bad I can barely lift my arms or legs right now. I have a sit down office job from 8 - 5. If we're lucky we will get a break for lunch. Usually so behind, we just stay and work through it. Maybe after the sleeve I'll feel more like walking. I want to start it before my surgery June 25. So, from here, I'll just ask for prayers. Thank you for responding.
  16. Maybe try a different type of milk like Silk namebrand?
  17. I have /am hurting so bad for the past three weeks with back, shouler and knee pain. I feel like I cant move anymore. Taking hour long hot baths. Helps till I get out. Someone PLEASE give me a home remedy that will help. Aleeve and Epson salt baths just arent helping. I start my 2 week liquid diet next Monday.
  18. Starting my 2 week liquid diet a week from tomorrow...is SF candies ok in liquid diet and after surgery liquid diet? I stress eat and thinking it would help me get through it. Thanks in advance , angie
  19. Is it ok to have sugar free hard candies to help with stress eating during my two week liquid diet and after surgery with more liquids?
  20. Thank you so much for the reassurance. I do feel somewhat better and never considered the 3 as starting over. After reading the posts, I was able to take and deep breath and lean back in my chair. I think the reason Im stressing so much over this one is due to the 6 week wait for the surgery date. Thats alot of time to stress over what "could" happen. So ready for June 25 and have it past me. Thanks again !
  21. PogiYogi, Did you have the sleeve done? If so when? Im at work and a co worker just came in and said a friend and a relative passed away this weekend and made the comment that they happen in 3's. Put a chill over me. What if I'm #3? I have never been scared to go into surgery until now. its almost overwhelming.
  22. NE AR here. Nice to meet you both. Excited about my surgery and concerned if Im making the right decision.
