  1. You are right tighter is not better. My surgeon has educated me enough to know that too much restriction is a bad thing. I thank God that he listens to me, my nutritionist interviews me, and they are thorough so they don't overfill me. It does happen, and it's our job to listen to our bodies and I know this is tough. Amazing what we learn in hindsight.
  2. Contact your doctor the last thing u need is to be uncomfortable. Good luck
  3. Remember that things like Mac and cheese have enriched flour and kind of doughy could ball up in your stomach. It seems after the first few days of full liquid after full, for me I had to take it to soft mushy and gradually try different things after a full.
  4. Oh yes...you are normal!!!
  5. Don't get depressed. I had these crazy emotions in the beginning too. A sense of loss, losing myself, feeling like no one understands my loss...food a new life change. Just keep your eye on the prize... A healthier you!!!! Sure it's going to take a couple weeks even a month to really feel like the old you...or new you!!!! You are awesome for taking in a change that could save your life. That is brave and your decision. You will get out of this "funk" I promise!!!! If u need to talk I'm here. Lora
  6. You should rest you will feel like you have no energy ( you just had surgery) concentrate on clear liquids little sips, coconut water with flavoring has good hydration effects. Don't do too much you are healing.
  7. Just remember to follow the rules and you will do fine. You may have various individuals that may not have been educated to know the rules, or possibly slips due to faulty equip, etc. just be informed on how and and what you should eat. Play it safe listen to your body that is the best way you know. Maintain regular appointments, see a nutritionist, excercise, and don't eat cruddy foods:)
  8. If you are vomiting after a few bites that us not a good sign. Yesterday my surgeon explained, " we want you to be able to eat 3 mall meals and a couple healthy snacks. Chew small bites...if you are satisfied in between meals you are green zone. If you are eating and going back to the bathroom because you feel stuck, then we have filled you too tight...this can be a bad thing because you can get esophageal dilation. " so you can actually not lose weight if you are too restricted.
  9. Mine too!!!! I take Centrum chewables and Pyr absorb Iron by Spatone
  10. I would keep an eye on it and journal those episodes, but consult with your doctor. Do you have that communication to call a nurse from bariatric team?
  11. I had my barium swallow last week. It was easy except felt like I was drinking plaster of Paris. I was able to watch the barium go through my band and radiologist indicated it looked good. Mine were read one week later, but had an early hint all looked good. Good luck:)

  16. My surgeon told me normally 1-2 pounds a week. But there will be plateaus. I have lost 81 pounds since December 2010...I chose to go slower with my fills. I didn't start excercisibg regularly unti this spring. I went from a size 24 to a size 12 ( some 14s) so in pretty satisfied. One regret, I don't excercise sooner:)
  17. Yes leg cramps headache dizziness all signs of deydration. To supplement hydration issues try coconut water it has major electrolytes and potassium...I have used this in a pinch.
