Dole makes a cinnamon apple crisp cup (they come in a 2 pack) that is amazing. I put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and it's like eating apple pie without the guilt.
Skinny Cow also makes some great frozen treats, like carmel ice cream bars with chocolate drizzle for only 100 calories each. They also make little packets of candies and Cookies for 100 calories a packet. When I know I'm going to cheat if I don't ease my sweet tooth, it's one of these Skinny Cow products I go for.
Also, Jello makes some really great sugar free pudding.

After trying so many Protein shakes and hating them all I finally found one that I think you will love. I am actually addicted to them.
They are made by HealthSmart and they are called ChocoRite Protein Shakes. They have various flavors but my favs are Peanut Butter, strawberry, banana, cappacinno and chocolate. Here is a webste where I buy mine from http://www.netrition.com
It says mix 2 scoops with Water for 150 calories and 24 grams of Protein but I didn't like the Water base so my doctor said I could use skim or 1% milk and omg that made them so good. He said all the milk does is boost your protein and calories just a little. Try them, I think you will be satisfied with them. Good luck!!!!

pintail233 reacted to his_spirit in has anyone gotten the lapband to loose 50 pounds
I had a bit more to lose at nearly 200 lbs and 5'3. Lost a bit over 30 lbs now and when people ask me what I have done they always say but you weren't that heavy. It is a personal choice and one that I did not take lightly as I knew how the extra weight was effecting me in my everyday life for all my adult life. Shying away from going out with friends, always feeling tired, unhappy every time I looked in the mirror. Many of the things that I enjoy and love in life all gone because of the excess weight. In the end, I don't really care if people judge me for having surgery because it isn't their life to live. It is mentally exhausting to constantly be in a battle with weight. You have to do what is best for you. So far, I have never vomitted and eat pretty much all types of food without a problem. It does take work but the work it takes (in my experience) is far less than any other so called "diet" I have ever tried and I have tried them all it think. Diets are torture to me, every minute of the day. This does not feel like a diet at all.

I love Pure Protein in Frosty Chocolate...the already made one in the car is okay but the powder one is really good. I make it on skim milk and I love it. Ive made it on Water before and it was still pretty good. I get a shaker cup fill with 8 oz of milk put a scoop of powder and then lots of ice. It feels like Im not depriving myself, it tastes like chocolate milk.

You don't have to like Protein Shakes to be successful. My doctor doesn't even recommend them except when you're on all liquids. According to him, the band works with food, not liquids. When you get back on solids make sure you're eating food high in Protein and always eat your protein first, before veggies or anything else.

Hello everyone! I thought I would start a place for us slow losers who are a year or more past our surgery. I like the other slow losers thread, but I think those of us who have lost a small amount over an entire year or more need our own place to discuss our specific issues.

Vitamin Shoppe lets you return Protein if you don't like it; and exchange for something else. I also find their staff knowledgable and willing to tell you what flavors are popular. GNC tends to try ans sell you whatever is on special that month.

Just to be clear, I use the bottles (premixed, not the powder) and the chocolate and vanilla bean are great!

Some people refer to it as their sweet spot. I am only a few days post op so I can only tell you what I've heard/read about it. When you can eat a small amount, be satisfied and not get hungry for another 4-5 hours.
You don't want to be able to eat too much or too little and you want to not get hungry for approx 4-5 hours after a meal. Having your band filled or unfilled is what helps you get to your green zone. It is something you and your surgeon will work on together after getting banded.

@ mimilou, yes I am banded now. As a matter of fact, it's been 2 1/2 yrs and I'm very disappointed. but mostly with myself. only lost 50lbs but I swear to do better...any words of encouragement anyone? My new plan now is to go to the gym early before work. That means getting there at 6:00am.
