She DID NOT want to change her old eating habits. Her band did not fail her, she didn't follow the rules of the band. She was not ready mentally. What a powerful addiction to food. How truly sad!!!!

Of course they can, but when the same questions are being asked time after time after time and like someone said above, that same question might have already been asked within a few hours of it being asked again, it gets a little redundant. The search engine is a great way to get all the info you might need, and you'll most likely find that the question has been asked a few times already and in a few different ways. There's so much info on this site that is readily available via search, it will save you time in the long run.

It's 4 am, having my coffee before heading off to the gym...checking all my e-mails, weather, news headlines, etc, which I also do each morning....
Then I come here, check all the "New Content" since last logging in.....WOW...seems just about every post is about someone needing help...someone struggling....not happy, having a tough time...totally confused...falling off the wagon .looking to get back on track.....and the people who are having issues are prone to attack other people! (misery likes company?)
and on and on it goes....
I'm glad I do not come here for inspiration and motivation....because there are days it just isn't visible!

i took a needed time out over the weekend for that very reason.
i can only say it so many times (as us all) to follow your doctors instructions, be patient and let the band work before you really get tired of saying it...maybe it will sink in
each needs to be responsible for themselves
you either (help) the band or not..all a matter of wanting
it bad enough to do it and stop the excuses..

I have hit several of these. My weight has only budged 3 lbs in the last 3 months. However, my doc says this is totally normal. To just make sure I am following the plan he set out for me and my body will catch up with what is going on. Our bodies have gotten so use to being heavy and us taking in a lot of food, after we loose weight it takes a while for it to catch up and understand what is happening is good and it doesn't need to hold on to every fat cell for dear life.
Keep doing what you are doing. I keep getting told it will be better!

That is great that you and your mom are supporting each other. Your weight loss will depend on you. Best wishes.

I asked my surgeon this question today. He said that is normal. Some days the band is tighter than other days.

I have lost 64 lbs and I still really don't see and big change. Looking at an old photo helped. My brain gotta catch up.

I have made a deal with myself...if I gain 5 lbs I go super strict for a few weeks like I did for 22 months to lose the weight. Had I done this my whole life I would have been in a better place than under a knife.

You are the one who reads rude into a post. Those of us who respond are truly trying to help. It was a recommendation, like all things on the forum, you pick and choose what you want to use. No need to attack someone who is trying to be of help and takes the time to respond to your post. Like I said in my second post, you should do what works for you. Peace!

Okay I am not a Finished Product But Changed my Profile Picture!! To this Date I Lost 80 Pounds with My lap band Plication!! This 80 Pounds includes Before the Weight loss, and Before the Lap Band Program & Afterwords!!! I am Dedicated and Refuse to Be a Prisoner of My Own Eating insanity anymore!!
I Just Refused to Give into this Weight Struggle!! I am still a Work in Progress, I Know!! But I will never forget my Bible when Jesus Stated!!

Thanks everyone! I'll keep trucking along. Every day is a clean slate. It's been a long strange trip trying to figure out how to live with the band and after 11 months I think I finally understand how to work with it and use the tool to my best advantage.

75 lbs is great. The one thing I have learned on my journey is to never compare my success to anybody else's. It's not about losing the weight fast, it's about losing safely and being healthy. My friend had Gastric Bypass and lost a ton of weight. But, she gained ALL of that weight back and stretched out her pouch. She tired to get it revised to the Lap band but her surgeon wasn't able to place the band. Lap band was the best decision for me. Congrats on your upcoming Banniversary!!!!!!

I was banded 8 months ago today! and I am 62 1/2. Best thing I did. I wish the band was around 30 years ago. You are never too old to take care of your health and try to live longer.
