  1. If you have nausea again.... My doctor sent me home with a nausea patch so I wouldn't get it. It is tough but you are on the other side now. Get lots of rest. I was feeling bad the first 3 days and thought I was a looser as a lot of people were saying it was super easy. But, as of day 4 yesterday I have turned a corner. Feeling more like the old me everyday..Just a bit lighter daily! Good luck and keep us posted... Hey Scorpiolady how are you doing? it is so hot already!!!!
  2. Jenny yes, I got married a year ago.... Thank you!
  3. I have like 6. the one biggest on the left side is the low profile port that hurts bad. the other 5 (I don;t know why 6 total) are already itchy! I really think some of us just don't do as well as others. hang in there atleast you have your mom as support/ motivation.
  4. Hi Connie I don't have an answer for you but I live in Arizona basically its hot as Hell here so if this is true I am in BIG trouble!
  5. .WE are band twins! I was banded Friday! I took Friday and all this week off as I know I don't bounce back that fast. I know some people do but maybe like the others have said you are expecting to much to soon, Good for you on the 10lbs! That is a great startl I got off the Lortab Sunday as it messes me up. I am taking childrens tylenol as every 6-8 hours and its helping. Please don't panic deep breath and know you are not alone. Hang in there I feel better everyday but I too was so envious of others on Saturday who were already saying how great they were doing.
  6. I think the gas depends on how much they put in you and how much walking you do... I didn't have much at first now I am blowing a@@ like crazy! LOL but it feels really good!
  7. blessed I was banded on Friday 5/18 I really was miserable until today. Day one was a blur, day two I was in pain and started to think what did I do. I got dehydrated and had to go to the er. After some fluid via IV I felt a zillion times better. Day 3 I just hurt and I knew I need to try to get off the lortab (liquid pain meds) as those always mess me up. Last night I was able to remove the bandages and take a shower for the first time in days. I also decided to sleep in my bed instead of the recliner that I had been in since Friday. Today I got up showered and acted as normal as possible when your left side hurts every time you move! Hang in there it gets better... I really did take the first 3 days easy. However every hour I got up and walked about 5 minutes. If you got a speedomoter (breathing thingy) I blowed in that and just tried to get the water down. I am only doing childrens tylenol as needed but its mostly just before bed. Please believe me you are on the right road you will get there just be good to you and think of the health and excitement that lies ahead of you!
  8. Jennybee you look AMAZING!!!!! How much do you want to loose? I started this journey with the need to drop 60lbs. A lot of people think that isn't much but when you are 40 something with PCOS it is next to impossible! I was banded on 5/18 and saw my Dr today for follow up. He says he thinks I will drop 1/2 my weight in the next two months expects me to hit goal in 4 but, is worried I might loose too much. I know in the past the more I have had to loose the faster I lost. Good going girl I can't wait for my waist to look little again... I am only 4 days post op and I look pregnant!!!! uggg
  9. good to know I have some of those... okay now I get the rib cage pain! Thanks Tricia. How is everyone feeling today? I am starting to feel more normal! Hope you are all doing good!
  10. I am a private pay and my surgery was roughly 12,000 here in Arizona. I did the 2-1/2 additional insurance in case of issues which added 1900. to the price so you are around 10,000. Fills are added fee's and I don't know if you finance it though a care credit or maybe on your own credit card monthly would depend on what the rate is. Have you picked out a surgeon yet?
  11. I had my surgery on the 18th too and I just started taking Tylenol (children s) today. I am on liquids only too and struggling to get it all in I don't feel hungry. Haven't had a bm yet but really I don't have much in my tummy however I am going to take the milk of magnesia tonight at bed so maybe I will go tomorrow., maybe that is the growling in my stomach. I think this is different for all of us. Age, amount of weight and so on seem to play a huge factor in this! Good luck!
  12. Hi Everyone I am 3 days post op. Still swollen and on liquids. I am starting to feel good and had two shakes today.. took me all day to drink them,.. just had 4oz of strained egg drop soup... feeling very full... my tummy is making this noise that sounds new... its sort of a growl, so is this gas or my tummy grumbling? Just wondering if you have had that happen?
  13. my doc said 72 hours after to remove and I could shower.... he said the steri stiches will come out on their own not to pull...
  14. Mine was fine too... I just don't think I am bouncing back as fast as shy but I am 44 so maybe my age?
  15. Thats awesome Tricia!!! I dream of that day.. I am 3 days post op and I am in my recliner to sleep can't imagine how good my bed will feel. I am a left side sleeper too so the port pain is a concern for me too!
  16. a pillow to put between your tummy and the seat belt for your ride home. I wore a pull over one piece sundress. I've been living in them a lot easier to change and not close to your belly. and a bottle of water to sip on the ride home. Good luck you are starting a new life! keep us posted
  17. My Dr said forever. I think if you have a slip or erosion that would be different but they are made to stay is my understanding
  18. congratulations!!!!! you do look skinny and great! 50lbs is a lot!!!!! Good Job!
  19. I love heels but over the last few years with my excess weight I can wear them very long. I am hoping as I loose it will be better. Congrats!
  20. good luck! check in with us when you are done!
  21. Jen you are doing great! I am still very tired and taking some pain meds for my left side port pain. I have 11 days off. I don't think I could go back tomorrow but I also do sales so I am in and out a lot. I am so impressed! Good job. Your attitude is amazing. You can do it I know you can. keep us posted

  23. thanks ladies.... yesterday wasn't good went to the hospital as I was running a low grade fever and was very dehydrated. They gave me an iv of saline took a chest xray and sent me home so here I am resting and trying to get fluids in. so you didn't eat or drink much the first days?
  24. I'm only 2 days but my Dr told me it would be really sore due to the tube they put down met. He told me to use the spray it is helping but I too have woken up with a sore throat. Let me know how it goes for you too
