  5. I was banded the next day on the 19th. Eggs arent on my list but right now I can have mashed potatoes, hummus, and cottage cheese...but the list they gave me just has these three things on it nothing else...besides creamy soups. I suppose eggs would work too. Hmmm...I need a better list.
  6. Ah...I am going to feel the same. When were you banded? I thought we were banded around the same time and I cant have eggs but want to.
  7. Glad you can take care of your son so soon and youre doing well.
  8. Can you take a break from the shakes? Today I was allowed thinned mashed potatoes and I can tell you they were magic. I feel better mental too. I am also 8 days post op.
  9. I wanna share my stats too I was banded on 4/19 and Im down 24 lbs...17 was from preop. Im supposed to do shakes and creamy soups but Im full for hours. The shakes take forever to get down and the soup feels like Thanksgiving...Im glad Im not alone in this feeling. Greek yogurt goes down okay though. Going to try have a protein shake for lunch and keep doing the yogurt for protein.
  10. Thank you...yes certainly dealing with the emotional connection with food will be very difficult. I suppose this type of thing will happen often to me...especially at first. I was surprised on how little I can hold right now...I am assuming it's because I am only 7 days out. I would imagine by 3 weeks ago I will be able to consume more than a few ounces right?
  11. The yogurt goes down fine...just like pudding. It doesnt make sense though seems like with creamy soups I'm going backwards...hmm. Anyhow it was like heaven what little I had.
  12. I didnt read the pages before...someone said liquids make it worse.
  13. Day three through seven I could have greek yogurt, sf jello, sf pudding, protein shakes, and Smoothies. Week 2-3 starts creamy soups eventually progressing into hummus, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, and oatmeal.
  14. What's your bmi at 5'6" and 150 lbs? Are you in the healthy range? I have no clue what Id be comfortable at and have no time to refer back to...so for now Im going off of BMI.
  15. Ughh Im stuffed. Was banded last Thursday...today I could start creamy soups so tonight I had one of those Soup By The Hand in Creamy Chicken...I poured about half of it in a bowl because I think drinking soup is weird...I had about half of the bowl ( which had half in it already) and Im so full. I swear I just ate Thanksgiving dinner. It made me mad at first because it was so good... I was mad that I had to stop so soon. I also was thirsty and gulped a few ounces of skim milk with it so it filled me faster. Before I get a lot of flack...all I had today was a child size greek yogurt and about 4 oz of my protein shake so I was really hungry. I just cant seem to eat hardly anything since that surgery. Is this normal...It been 7 days and I can barely drink my shake anymore...I can do about 2 ounces and Im good for hours.

Ah...I love your blog. Keep blogging...I would love to follow your journey. You have a neat prospective. I was just banded last Thursday. Today was my 1st day back to work.
  17. I bet if you switched your breakfast to eggs and turkey sausage (something high protein) you'd be good to go. You're getting a good amount of protein but I intend to keep the carbs between 20-30. And a little more protein wouldn't hurt. Of course, the veterans might tell you...you are still healing right now...it isn't about weightloss it's about healing.
  18. Does Acorn Squash shred and become noodle like?
  19. Thanks for everyone's input....Im trying to gather good recipes especially for dinners.
  20. Ohh...that's a good one. And greek yogurt instead of sour cream...they say that's a good substitute but I havent tried that yet. Thanks!
  21. Ohhhh...okay. Now that make sense...I seriously should have figured that out. Lol
  22. Ive never heard of account squash. The spag sauce with blended cottage cheese sounds good though.
