  1. I admire those that went thru with getting the sleeve on the 16th. I could not do it after all. I was so scared. I think what made me have second doubts were a few items such as: the hormone grehlin...and the tie with memory loss...the fact that i could never get my tummy back...the possibility of malnutrition...well..i don't feel like a failure. I am doing my best to eat healthy so that i can loose weight.please keep me updated. I wish everyone the best of luck.
  2. I hope you feel better. I decided not to do my surgery. I am gonna try diet and exsercise. Try and stay positive. I am sure they will figure out what is wrong. I got really nervous the weekend before my scheduled date before surgery and cancelled.
  3. Grehlin is also responsible for memory...
  4. I have decided not to get it. I was scheduled for tomorrow. Also, let's say that everything goes fine and there are no leaks with mine..they are still removing my body part that produces the most grehlin in the body which is responsible for memory. I dont want to hear years from now a study showing where alzheimers is typical in sleeve patients. Maybe i am exaggerating, but i am just gonna try to eat right and exercise. I do wish everyone else that is going through with this, much success and no complications.
  5. I learned a lot from the nutritionist. So far i am fillowing her rules and u have lost two pounds. Just weighed myself. Yeah!!!! I will continue to post my progress.
  6. Your words really helped me. Everyone on here is really helpful, but I really liked your thoughts. I love you guys. Yall are so supportive! I feel like I have friends that really do care without judging my decision. Tears are in my eyes right now: I just don't know what to feel. I have never felt this anguish before. I look outside my window right now, and the trees are moving and the leaves are blowing and it is such a nice beautiful day outside. I have 4 lovely children and I don't want to ever do anything that would jeopordize me not being healthy for them. I know they need me. I spoke to my coordinator this morning and she was also so understanding. she does not want to rush me, and her words also helped me a lot. I wish that these things were easy. never in my mind would of i imagined that this decision would be so difficult. I mean i have had a C Section, A Breast Lift, Lip Suction, gall bladder surgery; and yet, this one i am not sure why it is so difficult!
  7. I struggled so much last night! I could not sleep. I tossed around in bed. I finally got up, ate an apple and some crackers! I asked God to send me a sign if I should do it or not. So far, I just feel it in my heart that I do not want to do it. I will try it on my own. I will try and eat better and excersise. That is the only way I can think of to loose weight. I started the preop diet yesterday and i felt like crap! i felt dizzy; i was at Walmart buying items and i thought i was going to faint. I dont' want to get mal nutrition later. I don't know. Just real scared and i Just think i will be healthier if i am able to nourish my body with quantiites that are not so tiny. If I loose 40 pounds, I will be happy: I am 200 right now. so if i loose 40, I will be at 160 and I can live with that. I kinda feel like a failure for not being brave enough to do this, but the minute that my heart told me not to do it..my heart felt happier! It seemed like my stress level went down.
  8. Today was first day of preop diet feel so dizzy
  9. I am 36..has not happenned before..it feels like when your feet are asleep...i tried massaging them and it feels a it better...but it is my ankle and foot....and my hand...not arm...i feel like ants are walking on them.
  10. Has anyone ever had that? I have never had these..but i have noticed it this week..today more? Anyone with that issue? It is very uncomfortable
  11. I can definately see a difference! you are looking good!
  12. Can everyone please share if any, complications with the sleeve?
  13. Lisa, thank you! You have been one of my best mentors on this forum! Now that I think about it, I should probably put together a Will! I don't want these to be taken by uncle sam I am so sorry to hear about your friend though. God has a weird way of talking to us sometimes. Thank you for your kind encouragement! I will make sure I update everyone as I see progress with my surgery! I have to think positve! I am going to watch the movie "The SECRET"
  14. I don't know why, but i just had to write a letter to my family! I met with my physchologist and she recommended that I write a letter of all the reasons why i was doing the surgery, and then to look at it after the surgery to see how much success i have had! I started to doing that, and then it turned out as a goodbye letter to my family in case i die on the operating table! i know i am being totally silly! my surgery is on Monday, the 16th; but I cannot share those feelings with anyone, as they will think i am crazy; but i even put a password on it so that nobody can read it but i left a clue on the letter as to what the password was so they could open it in case something bad happens. I know i am being silly, but is this normal? I mean does anyone else feel like that or am i just exagerating? i know there are always risks in every surgery, but I guess since this one is an elective surgery; and the thought of them ripping my stomach out; just really makes me feel very sad and bad! Anyone else feels like this?
  15. Let me clarify: The reason mine is $4300, is becuase I have a hernia: but I do have insurance so my insurance will pay for my hernia but not the weight loss surgery; so my portion to pay will be $4300 and my insurance will pick up the rest.
  16. That is awesome! Congratulations; Mine is on the 16th; only a few days out, so I am so excited! And at the same time scared; i think i am over the panacky state, where I almost wanted to cancel. i think i am just dreading the recovery! Not really the change later. i am used to eating pretty good..it is just that sometimes I think I eat too late, and I think I might over eat or make some bad choices once in a while. I have been able to maintain my 207 weight for some time now..but overall; i have put on about 80 pounds that I cannot seem to get rid of by myself; this has been in the course of 17 years!
  17. I have a hernia so my insurance will cover the hernia part and i will pay the difference.4300
  18. yeap! Really nervous over here also! But here we go...let's see how this turns out:
