KayBaby got a reaction from EnigmaInKY in Regret even after initial "omg, what have I done?"
My regrets or buyer's remorse was short lived, but I did have them. I was sleeved at 272 lbs on 4/23/12. At first the food restriction was shocking, my brain wanted to eat more, but tummy screamed, "no room!" I learned to only eat what volume felt ok, and save the rest for later. As the fat melts away, for me the biggest visible difference was at 4-6 months out when my clothes were no longer wearable. Today I am at 198-Onederland!!! People are shocked at my visible change, I get called thin or skinny, I can cross my legs, curl up in a chair like a little kid, I feel wonderful! The lbs are moving slower now, so I must pick up the work outs to get to goal. I now eat what I want, but in smaller portions, and although I don't say it, am nauseated and shocked at the heaping plates I see people devour. My normal has changed and I only regret that I did it at age 50 and not at 30! Many yrs being more active with my kids and not being "the fat mom" could have been nice! Thanks for listening, guess I needed to vent. Best wishes, take the Vitamins, increase the Protein and Water, and move! Moving has been hardest, no time, blah, blah, blah..... and my body has lost weight despite my laziness! I will get moving and rock my sleeve in 2013!

Why do you have to say anything to them? This is a personal decision, not a public one.
When people ask how I have lost my weight, I tell them through reduced portion sizes and exercise. It's the truth.
I don't tell people how I am able to only have two kids (vasectomy)
I don't tell people how I am able to see without glasses (lasik)
I don't tell people how I am able to ... (fill in the blank)
My weight loss is not out there for public consumption. My wife and family know, and a couple friends who battle weight issues and are considering it. I told them because I know their struggle and want them to know there is a tool to help them.
    But that's it.

I love cooking shows! My husband calls it food porn Regardless, I get great ideas, then tweak them to be what I like. I will be the first to tell you I am NOT a foo foo cook (I love to watch it, but have you priced saffron threads??) Anyway - I don't even cook with raw onion or shallots - I use the ground up stuff from my spice cabinet....and no one has complained yet...and it simplifies my life....
So on with my latest and greatest!
    Preheat oven to 350
Spray your muffin tin - I have a 6 cup tin that works great for this - regular size muffins...
    In a bowl mix
1 small container ricotta (I used part skim)
1 small container cottage cheese (drain moisture off - I use paper towels, use a cheese cloth if you have one)
    half cup mozzerella
half cup of the REAL shredded parmesan - not the white powder out of a can (see - I can be a food snob!)
I package of minced spinach (I used the steam in a bag stuff from HEB, then SQUEEZED the heck out of it with paper towels!)
    1 large egg yolk
    some onion salt
    garlic powder
    Mix well
Spoon into muffin tin, top with some provolone (I love cheese! - can be mozzerella if you want)
Bake for about 35 minutes - watch you cheese on top - no burning!!
Let set for about 7 minutes and enjoy!
I am almost a month out of surgery and eat almost a full muffin tin - but not quite -
    So yummy!
I know someone smarter than me will plug it into your online doomahickie and tell me the Protein and calories...each portion is about 4 oz. I did have some mix left over.....my dog loved it too!
    Enjoy!

It will come off! Some people hit goal in 6 months--some in less than a year---some in a year--and some people get there in 2 years. I have seen some people take 18 months to lose 80 lbs down to goal. But you know what? They were all HAPPY AS HELL that they lost it! :-) Keep on doing the right thing and the weight loss will come.

So sorry this has happened to you! Be strong and do what is right for you and your baby. It sounds like you are a great mom. Best wishes with the therapy also.
I do agree, this surgery is so life altering that it can shake things up for sure. My 23 yo marriage is fine, but I do find I now have more confidence than before and tend to stick up for myself more! If that becomes a problem, oh well....I have been there for hubby and kids and now is my time to take care of me!

Nikki. Relax. Just take care of yourself first. Dont worry about eating. Let it heal. Drink fluids and more fluids. I can attest that your world has completely been flipped. Your in control. Now grab that wheel and drive it like you stole it.

You guys are so awesome. Believe me, I'd give this a 1 in 10 chance of working out -- I'm not a doormat.
He's apologized for what he said and what he did, but the lack of respect and the lies are just not okay with me. I've never considered myself someone with self-esteem issues, so I wish I could say I should have read the signs and realized what a selfish ass he was capable of being... But I'm shocked and our friends and family are absolutely floored by his behavior. Even his guy friends are on my side. I've kicked him out already and have told him that the burden to resolve my trust issues are on him. He's playing nice for now, but if I had to write down my reasons for staying versus my reasons for leaving, one side would be MUCH longer than the other. Can you guess which side?
I don't believe in staying married just for our daughter's sake, but I do want to know that I can tell her years from now that I gave him a chance, even if he didn't deserve one.
PDXMan, that article was fantastic and totally verified some things I'd been hypothesizing. Thanks for sharing it!

Ignore the haters, too bad there's not a surgery for negative, nasty, jealous attitudes! You are right on pace to getting the body and the health improvements you want! Stay positive and keep up the good work! Every pound is a big deal, we didn't put it on overnight and it is not logical that it could come off over night. Small steps in the right direction....we will all get there!
