You guys are all great and right!!!I guess i just had myself convinced i should have lost more weight by now (12 weeks) post-op.Im down from 270 to 225 so thats like 45 lbs.I was very frustrated and just frazzled but since hearing all of you and talking with my weight loss coach I have learned that i was doing some things wrong.1) I was drinking fluids way to soon after I ate and didnt stop soon enough before I eat...Which since I have changed that and dont drink 1 hr before or after I eat my meals keep me full 2) I Stopped beating myself up for not having a stuck,PB or vomiting episode and relized I AM doing what I am suppose to be doing...AND most of all I am showing myself that this is a crawl not a sprint and now I am back on track with alot more confidence and self worth than I had.So thanks people I has really helped.

I was banded May 16th of this yr. i have had NO stuck episodes,weight loss is at 45 lbs, And I have had 2 fills going on the 2nd of August for my 3rd filll!!My question is this...Today I have been so dizzy all day!!! It is like wene u have gotten drunk and u lay down and ur whole world is spinning!! Has anyone else had this plus I have had NO energy today and kinda feel bad!!! Is it cuz im just under the weather or is it something to do with my band???Very concerned!

Thanks Daddy yeah I think alot of my problem is not having patience.I have had any stuck PB's and I was worried that Im not eating the right things or sumthing.But I guess I can say Im just lucky not to have had any of these things Yet!!!I get a plateau sumtimes but then it kicks back in.Just wanna be doe tomorrow too but I guess this is a lifetime journey so it will never be done!!!lol thanks again for responding. Hi people of May banding. I was banded on May 16th 2012. Today is July 25th 2012 and well im down only 38 lbs to my disappointment and I have had 2 fills.My 3rd fill will be August 2nd and just feeling a lil sad because I am really trying hard to do the things I need to do. I dont feel like I am a "NORMAL" bandster because i can eat whatever I want to( I dont) but I could.I drink just fine and I have not got stuck yet. I just feel like I still cant relate to anyone else cuz everyone has things going on that I feel like Im missing out on.ex.being stuck,PB's,etc. If there is anyone else out there please let me know that is in this same boat as me.I know its strange to want to feel these diffrent things but it seems to me that its a band normal that I havent had. plus my weight loss is sooo slow or have you other May bandsters lost about the same.Thanks for listening.Lisa

Well I will share with you what I do...I went to walmart and got One A Day with skin health(promotes healthy skin, i take 1 a day, lol I take GNC B12 1 a day and I take 2 caltrate 600 Calcium vit. D chews and I get my Protein alot from New whey protein shot.Its 3.8 oz of pire protein.It has 42g og protein and its at walmart also hope this help u.

I had sum salad about a week ago wene i was 6 weeks post op...NOT a good thing for me it gave me BAD dirrhea and so I dont think Iwill try it again for awhile..SORRY

Exactly well said post...I am more thrilled at the fact that I no longer have to lay down during the day for a nap from exhaustion,i WAS on 12 insulin shots a day and since being banded on May 16 2012 I have not had to take not the first shot!!!These are the results I was looking for..Yes I would be lying if I said I wasnt curious about the pounds Im losing but that is the least of my worries.Yes I have lost approx. 33 lbs since May 1st wene I started my pre op diet and Yes I have bad days but mostly good days..So to all of us no matter were u are at in this journey keep positive and I say this to myself too because I make poor choices once in a blue moon, I still feel no restriction, (going for 2nd fill) on July 5th but no matter what Lovemythree is rite there is so much more to look forward to than just getting on the scale and seeing the loss or gain yup Ive had both..We can feel the improvements or at least I can DAILY!!! WITH that I would like to thank my band for the help...Good luck to you all.

I had my lapband surgery in Las Vegas on May 16th!!!!! I used Dr Tom Umbach at Blossom Bariatrics in Henderson. My surgery was done at Desert Sproings Hospital.I however dont live there I live in Arkansas.I had the worst anxiety and fear I believe anyone person could have...But wene it was all done it was just like everyone says on here...I was no big deal at all...I had little to no pain and healed up wonderfully.I have currently lost 30.4 lbs and still going strong...You can do this and good luck with your new journey and itis a journey!!!

I took a bath jut just didnt get my stomach wet...i wiped around it BUT the kicker is getting OUT of the tub!!!OOOHHH WOW!!! It hurt cuz u have to use ur stomach muscles to get out!!!Only did it once but it was so relaxing and did help with the shoulder pain!!!

oh wow I know Dr Woodman in Memphis!!!!He did not do my surgery but wanted to say hey ur rite in my backdoor.Im in West Memphis and way to go on the weight loss!!!

May 16 and lost 25 lbs

I have been banded since May 16th.I got my first fill at 3 weeks post op!!!!I have a littl restriction but not much.I found a new protein that I live by daily to help get all my protein.Its sold at Walmart. Its called New Whey protein shots!! It comes in watermelon,grape or acai berry.Its 3.8 oz of 42g of protein!!!A LIFE saver! I ran across my doctor and he said its find actually perfect because u amly have to worry about getting in the diffrence of 60 g of protein after the protein shot and its completely ISOLATE protein!!!!I makes me not hungry and it gives me a big jolt of protein all at once. Highly recommend this and they cost 2.48.I drink one a day usually in the am wene im not as hungry and it curves my hunger the rest of the day!!!

Hi Tammy so glad to hear your doing great!!! I myself also was banded May 16th though!!! I noticed u and I started at the same weight I started at 270 and on surgey date i was 262!!! I have lost 25.2 lbs so far and also I have already got my first fill!!!! Which was not even bad..No pain at all!!! So glad u and I are on the same page almost.Very encouraging to watch your progress...Good Luck Girl!!!

I was in your same boat 2 days ago. I had my first fill yesterday!!! I was freaking out but I had surgery in Las Vegas and had to come home and find a doctor that would do all my follow up visits including my fills!! I have insurance and only have to pay 45 dollars to get a fill so on that note i will fill you in on my first fill experience.I am just 3 weeks and 2 days out from surgery and noticed that i could"guzzle" water if I wanted which I did a few times and I could actually eat anything I would put in my mouth,which I must say took alot of control and will power on my behalf!!!I have lost 28 lbs in 4 weeks but the last week i started to gain back 4 lbs so I went in and he said It was time for my fill. He the doc layed me back on the table but first I had to go get an x-ray to make sure how my port was sitting and to check how my band was sitting.He did not numb me and I asked him WHY???He said the numbing shot hurts way worse than just doing the fill he felt for the port to get a good position on it and he also made me push my stomach out and he inserted the needle you can believe me or not but I did not feel a thing didnt even know he was in!!!!There was a little pressure on the port but NO PAIN at all!!!Just felt kinda wierd.He had me sit up with the needle in my belly and drink water a little at a time to get the right amount of fluid in my band.I think he said he put in .5cc's in because I just had surgery 3 weeks ago so he said there was still some swelling in my stomach so he just gave me enough to take the place of the swelling that had gone down since surgery.Now today I feel full all day I have managed to drink water/crystal light and about half the amount of protein shakes Im suppose to have so I definately feel no hunger and some sort of restriction.so good luck and dont be scared on Monday its really not as bad as u think and this is coming from a BIG OLE SCAREDY CAT!!!

Got my first fill today...5cc but no pain at all!!!!AND he didnt numb me just felt pressure wene he entered the port!!!!!So now I am soo happy...just a lil afraid to take anything in yet...maybe later ill enjoy a protein shake yuck so sick of them but got 2 days of liquids then 2 days of soft and then back to regular food so maybe wont be that bad!!!

I was also told ABSOLUTLY NOT!!! No carb drinks at all they will destroy the band over time and the bubbles will stretch the baby stomach..Sorry I was a diet coke freak a 24 pk a week drinker...since being banded 3 weeks ago I have had not even a sniff of one.now i dont even think about it.

Thank u for clearing it up!!!!NO my doctor that did the surgery does not put fluid in at surgery i called and asked!!!I dont eat sugar due to being diabetic.The closes sugar I get is sugar free popsicles and crystal light!!!lol i have been to scared to eat any card i just eat meat and veggies...So glad to know all this is normal!!!Thanks again and i cant wait to go to the doctor tomorrow..I have no pain anywere..my port area hasnt hurt at all in days...should it still be hurting?

i am the same with u!!!the shakes make me wanna puke even the smell of the powder!!! I also have eatin a lil like half an egg a couple times just so i can get sum protein i cant even do the shakes i try but they just wont go down anymore thats how grossed out i am with them.

i havent done that...omg gurl be strong...i didnt know we CUD do that so what kinda pain u having??
