  8. My Dr is very aggressive with his fills. It is also done under fluoroscope. I was banded june 11th,2012. First fill 4 weeks after and 6cc, then second fill 4 weeks after first one 3cc. I fell great! 9cc in a 11cc band. I am eating one cup at my three meals and i can tell when full. Best feeling ever. So i am just over 2 months out since surgery and really feel like i just might be in the green zone.
  9. I really hope the best for you. I was really trying to give you a helpful suggestion. I have worked in the operating room and with trauma so yes i would feel comfortable doing thisto myself. As i said before i am not saying go do it but just advice you could bring to a dr that coukd maybe help with a quick fix. Nwgirl apparently feels she know best in this situation and no one elses advice or wishes are good enough. I wish the best to you.
  10. Nwgirl- i am simply stating what i would do in a similar situation. I would never be in this type of situation as my dr's office is only 15 minutes from my house. She originally asked for suggestions and can bring this option to her dr at her appt tomorrow. The fact that she has the end of the tubing sticking out of her body is cause for dangerous infection.
  11. If it were me i would be doing everything possible to try and fill it. I work in a hospital and have axcess to syringes and all the idems needed. I went to nursing school and knkw how to create a sterile field to work with. So i would fill my syringe with what you generally got for a first fill with normal saline then try like the liquid bandaid or liquid stitches. Or if tubing stickes out far enough i would use the liquid stitches then wrap with steri striped or gauze and bandage. Not sure how long it would last if at all but i wohld be trying everything. I am not recommending this for you only telling what i would do for myself.

  13. I just had my first fill today and have the realize 11cc band. He put in 6cc and everything seems great. Hope everything goes well for you.
  14. Great for you! I was banded on june 11th and also had my first fill today. I have a 11cc band and he put 6cc in! Yay!
  15. Congrats to you! I am also a few days away from one month and lost 10 on the pre-op diet, 15 on the liquid diet, and 10 post-op. I feel great already. Can not wait for my first fill. I get that on the 17th.
  16. They went by my first weigh in and i was at 42. But on surgery day i was at 38. They do submit according to your first visit. I did not have to show i had a problem with obesity because of course as they can tell by my bmi i do. It all went super smooth for me. Started in november 2011 and had my surgery june 11th. Good luck.
  17. I was banded on june 11th and have only lost 7 pounds since surgery. Sounds like your doing great. I get my first fill on july 17. I am not to concerned it takes time and i am not going to stress over only 7 pounds. Seven pounds is seven pounds. I am happy with that for only two and a half weeks. Since i started the whole process last november i have lost a total of 33 pounds and i feel great about were i am at. We will all get there!
  18. Wow. I had been wondering the exact same thing. I am two weeks out and for some reason am craving the grill chicken sandwich from subway. It will be awhile before i can try it though. Thanks to everyone for your answers! Super helpful.

  20. I am on mushies also. For breakfast scrambled egg, snack greek yogurt, lunch tuna salad, snack cottage cheese, supper refried bean or pureed chili. I have been finding lots of options. Unsweetened applesauce, smashed banana or pears, you can add condiments to stuff also like sour cream or mayo to tuna. You have to become creative but soon we will be on to regular food then we can experiment with mostly everything. Good luck
  21. I had my surgery one week ago today and this is the first day i have felt good. No way could i go back any sooner than one week. I will have two and a half weeks off but my job is very physical and i am on my feet all day. I work in a hospital. Good luck to you!
