  1. Thank you so much Marie. I hope all I need is muscle relaxers. That would be great. Thanks for your kind words.
  2. Thanks Dorrie. I was never given a binder so I've never worn one. My stomach was taken out on my right side. That's why I'm wondering why the left side hurts. I do have insurance through my husbands work but they exclude wls and I don't think they will pay for complications. I do see my surgeon on Thursday for my 1 month follow up. Just hoping I don't have to go into the hospital.
  3. I wrote last week about my upper left side pain. I still have no fever or nausea. Actually, I feel great except for this very BAD pain in my upper left side. It started in my back and moved around on my side and a little in the front of my body. It hurts worse when I'm up and around and walking makes it WORSE! At night when I'm lying down, I hardly feel it at all. Heating pad helps during the day as long as I'm not moving around. As soon as I start moving the pain gets worse. I've heard all kinds of reasons why I may be having this pain. GAS is one and I can assure you it isn't gas. I keep hoping and thinking that maybe it is the muscle that has a deep stitch in it. Although, my stomach was taken out on my right side and my right side doesn't hurt. My incisions are healed. The pain gets worse when I take a deep breath. I can sit up and take a deep breath easier then if I'm sitting back in a chair. I can breath very deeply even though it hurts to do so, so I think my lungs are ok. I called the surgeon's office again last week and moved my appointment up. They couldn't take me until Thursday and I'm just sitting waiting to see him. All kinds of horrible things are going through my mind. What if I have a leak??? Maybe there is a leak and I'm just not going to run a fever. Maybe they damaged my spleen during surgery? But why did it take three weeks to start hurting?? I was fine the first three weeks except for the horrible pain in the middle of my chest that finally went away. Now this. I'm so scared and worried about this. I've read so many horrible stories about leaks. MY WORSE FEAR!!!!! I am four weeks post op today. I feel great except for this pain. I don't want to go to the ER unless I'm very sick with fever or nausea. I guess I'm not really looking for answers from anyone. I'm just trying to figure this out in my head and it helps to type it all out. I am regretting my surgery as of right now. I'm so tired of worrying about possible complications. I was self pay and will be paying for this surgery for the next three years because my insurance won't cover it. I'm currently laid off work and my husband is working so hard for us as it is. I know if I have to go into the hospital, my insurance won't cover it. I would appreciate any prayers you guys could do for me. I need prayer. Thanks for reading. I guess I will know Thursday what I need to do. I'm afraid he may pass it off as being a muscle. If your stomach is taken out on the right side would they stitch the left deep in the muscle?? So many questions... :'( Anyone else have this?!?!?! I've asked before but has anyone had this and if so, what was the outcome?

  5. I wonder that same thing! The article didn't really say what happened. She could have had a blockage and didn't know it.
  6. I've lost 34 and I'm 3 1/2 weeks out. Of course 15 was preo and 19 post op.
  7. Wow... awesome job!
  8. Woke up this morning just worrying about leaks and strictures. I know that I can't do anything to prevent them at this point but I so pray to the good Lord that I don't get a leak. I'm 19 days out of surgery and find myself wanting the days to go by faster so I can be out of the danger zone. I'm so scared of this complication. I know I had a lot of swelling after surgery and they did a leak test but I also know that the test could be a false negative for a leak because of all the swelling. I still have pain in the top middle of my chest. Everytime I swallow I can hear what I'm drinking going down my sleeve. It makes awful noises. I keep hoping this will go away with time but when I hear it I think "Is my sleeve too tight?","is the chest pain I'm feeling now the start of a leak?". I've been having left side pain for days now but no fever or nausea. Ahhh... I know I just have to have faith and stop worrying. Just one of those days today.
  9. Your weight gain is from the IV fluids. Don't worry, it will go away soon!
  10. Thank you everyone! It really does help me knowing things are progressing normally.
  11. Thanks! Yes, we need to be buddies and talk everyday! I guess I'm just worried about everything right now. Strictures, leaks.. etc. I'm a worry wart! I don't like it and I'm sure I drive people crazy on this site...lol BUT.. I don't mean too. I do so appreciate all the info people can give me. Right now, everything I try to eat does feel like it is coming back up and I have acid reflux more since starting this stage. Left side pain too. Although, I did call the Dr. and he said use a heating pad and see if that makes it better. It is better somewhat. I guess I'm just ready to feel better and get past the complication stage. Thanks again and keep in touch with me to let me know how you are doing.
  12. Thank you. How much could you eat at this stage. I'm wondering if my sleeve will ever let me eat more than 2 oz...
  13. I'm on my 3rd week post op. Blended and soft foods. I'm only able to get 2 ozs down. Does it get easier later on? I feels like the food I try to eat starts to come back up. Any advice? What were you guys eating at this stage and how much could you keep down? When does it get easier?
  14. I used a heating pad last night and it helped. I still have the pain today but I'm going to continue to use the pad. I slept better last night. Thanks everyone for your input! Love you guys!
  15. Yes, it would be. I will definately try it.
  16. Thank you Lissa! I guess I've had milk based shakes all along and I've been eating yogurt without problem. On my three week diet, the foods list is mashed potatoes, eggs, cheese spread, chees sticks, and nut butters. I'm not sure my sleeve is ready for it. I ate an egg and half a slice of cheese this morning. Went down well but now the acid reflux is horrible. I do love eggs though!
  17. I'm 15 days out today and just started three week soft foods. I've been having problems getting in all of my Protein since I had surgery. Yesterday, I thought I was doing awesome but today I'm having acid reflux so much more. I'm on Previcid 30 mg which the Dr. prescribed but before the surgery I was on Prilosec 20 mg a day. I don't think the Previcid is working! Also, the last two days my left side has been hurting a lot. I thought maybe I pulled the muscle or something. It hurts really bad when I lay down. Kinda goes around from the back to the front right under the ribs on the left side. Any ideas anyone of why this is happening? I called the nurse and she is yet to call me back. I'm so surprised!! NOT! Thanks guys!
  18. So sorry to hear this. Hope all is well after the endoscopic procedure!
  19. Praying for you Lizzy. You will be better sooner than you think. Keep the faith. God Bless!
  20. Congratulations!
  21. Try drinking G2 gatoraid. It helps me so much to stay hydrated and it is low sugar and low calorie. I like the blue best. I was almost dehydrated once last week and just made myself drink it. Sipping every few seconds. Hope this helps.
  22. So happy you are on your way to recovery!! It is great they found the problem. We are all thinking of you and praying for you speedy recovery.
  23. So so sorry you are both going through this. Praying for you. God bless you.
