  1. Ok, the darn chest worry is over. You are young and strong. You will not have complications. You will do just fine and begin a wonderful new life. Go for it!! Say your prayers and get through this preop diet. Mine was a horror, but I did it and you can too. You will feel proud and have a sense of accomplishment when it's over. Good luck to you and God bless.

Thank you Joni! Yes, this pre op diet is awful. I'm just on my second day and I have a headache from a hades!! I'm so tired too. Sure it is from the caffein withdrawals. I was a coffee drinker. I miss it so much.. :) Thanks again for the encouraging words!

  2. Good Luck with your pre-op diet! I started mine last week but I'm allowed to have a lean meat and veg for dinner. All liquids sounds rough. Hang in there! You'll do fine. And don't worry about the surgery it will all go fine. BEST OF LUCK!!

Thank you so much! :) Best of luck to you too! I wish I could have one meal at night. I'm only on day one and I'm so hungry! :/

  3. Thank you everyone. I love you guys. God bless you all for your kind words and prayers. I'm trying really hard to not worry. My CT is Friday. I won't wait for my Dr. to get the results, I will get the results myself on Monday. Dr's take too long. I will let everyone know. Thanks again. I get teary and so happy at the same time that I found this forum. :'(

  4. I'm sure you will get right back on track! :) Saying a little prayer for you that you don't have complications with your heart. I know how it is to be scared like that. I was blessed to find out nothing is wrong after having a Cath, echo, and wearing holter monitors. What is your condition with your heart? If too personal, its ok Keep your faith and you are right. "step by step with Jesus"... I like that! :)

  5. This post is amazing Shelley. Most of what you wrote in this post describes how I feel exactly. Thanks for sharing this. It just reinforced what I know to be true. I have to do this no matter what. I just found out my surgery date will be May 21st. The date my life will start again for the better. Postive attitude and prayer will get us through and we will be successful!

  6. I love reading stories like this. I hope one day this will be my story. I'm working on getting my sleeve. I am self pay and it's not easy. Insurance has an exclusion and will not pay. JUST MY luck. Just got back from the seminar tonight but all my paperwork is in and all I need now is my referral letter from my PCP and my Physc eval which I have an appointment on the 17th.

How did your surgery go? Did you have much pain or any complications?

You look amazing! You are an inspiration to us who haven't crossed over to the losers bench yet. :)

  7. Congratulations on your surgery date! :) I'm still in the process.

The only question I can answer for you is that an EKG last around 10 seconds. It takes about 5 minutes or so to put the electrodes on they they run the EKG for 10 seconds. That's it! I wish I could answer more of your questions but I've yet to have the surgery.

GOOD luck with your surgery. I hope to have my date by the end of April. :)

  8. I can't wait to be on the other side. I just got started. I see you are in Arkansas. I'm in Missouri not far from you in Cape Girardeau, MO. I just started my journey. Hope to have a surgery date in a few months. I'm soooo scared. I keep going back and forth about having it. I'm consumed. LOL Can't sleep or anything. I need this so badly! I've been overweight off and on most of my life. Lose only to gain it right back. Sometimes up to 100 pounds... GOOD luck on your journey!! Can't wait to say I'm 4 days out. How was the surgery? Much pain?
