  1. You just write, people read and write back. I had a very very hard time at first. I ate a little also. I hated the protein drinks alot. It really gets better after a few days. You give up being hungry, The hardest thing is to find drinks you like. Unjury is great. GNC has a cholate one that does taste like chocolate milk. Good luck.
  2. I like the sleeve because...I have the bottom part of my stomach. Food doesnt just dump into my bowels. Leading to diarrha. Plus I think removing most of the stomach, helps with hunger. Girls I work with still eat alot with the bypass it seam like. You dont get the dumping syndrome as much with the sleeve over by-pass. You still can dump but not as much. I am very happy. Also vit and mineral get absorded better with the sleeve because you have part of your stomach not so with the by-pass.
  3. I am so glad that I am not the only slow learner.
  4. It is your hurt stomach talking. You are still fresh from surgery. Maybe ice is too cold. Some cant take cold for a period.
  5. YES I hurt to. They do alot of work in little holes. Just think how bad it hurts when you cut your finger. Your tender stomach was cut on. The pain may come and go also.
  6. The doctors sometime say it up front so you understand. Patients die from this surgery. It was easy for me and other to loss alot of weight on the protein drink diet. I didnt think I would loss. Not the best. But the hunger goes away. good luck , dont give up on yourself.
  7. Protein made me sick for a long time. i did mac also. I say every one is different. You want to eat different things. I was under enough stress, dont stress. You will get better over time on your diet.
  8. I know I hurt for a long time. I took off 7 weeks, but I also had a hernia fixed. I also lift alot. i an a nurse
  9. It is the same story. No tricks, no easy way out. You have to watch what you eat. maybe do the protein shakes to curve your eating.
  10. That is great. All on one sheet.
  11. I hurt real bad on the left too. At 2 weeks. I think it had to do with the retraction on the liverduring surgery. I didnt hurt untill after my 2 week visit. I wasnt doing much around the house so it wasnt that. Some said I wsnt drinking enough, It wasnt that. It finally went down on the pain scale. Took about 2 weeks to totally go awat. Stabbing pain at times. Took pain meds and waited.
  12. I tell people I am on a special diet and nothing fits it I will eat later, and have something small. If they ask I say a high protein. Must people understand..
  13. If your insurance will not pay, Good luck in Mexico. Do you have a Dr. to go to if problems come up here? Find one. Even here in the states things can to wrong, but are medicine here is so much better. Mexico isnt as bad as the news makes it out to be.
  14. Feb. 27, pre-op weight 276. Down to 220. 56 pounds. It has slow down alot.
  15. I too ate before it was time. The big worry is the staple line in your stomach going to hold before it is healed? If you get a leak it is bad news.
  16. I did this too, I got sick alot. My stomach wasnt happy with me. It just takes time.
  17. The whey protein doesnt have the lactose in it. So people should be able to drink it without problems from the milk it come from. This is my understanding.
  18. I was depressed for a short time. It went away. But if you worry let your Dr. know so if you need any med. he can help.
  19. Mine did it also. but I am taking meds. It maybe because you are not drinking a large amount and you salt intake is down. Just watch to see if your blood pressure stays low. This maybe your new pressure. Maybe talk to your regular Dr.
  20. Put it on ice. The lime one is like salty 7Up. Cherry isnt as good. Drink fast and sip something after.
  21. I didnt have to do blood test until my surgery date was set. I have H.Pylo, and insurance paid. i didnt have to redo, gave me a pack of meds to take for 2 weeks very costly. 1000. without insurance 90 with mine..I did mine at TLC surgery houston
  22. Yes. Like I wanted pizza. i ate the cheese off a slice slow. No crust. I ate pickles without theskins. I dont want pickles anymore. So it depend what your craving is. dont binge, eat it slowly. You dont want to hurt the stomach incision and cause a leak.
  23. Shop for liquids before surgery because it will keep you on track after surgery. Buy different protein shakes and drinks also. I hate the sugar stuff after surgery. I took tea I liked to the hospital because they give you stuff you might not like. I am only 28 days out. I like my cup that keeps my water cold for a long time it goes from room to room with me. Worry most about fuilds, protein shortage will not put you back in the hospital as fast as not drinking. LISTEN to you stomach. Good luck.
