That's great!! I'm so glad you are doing and feeling great. I go in on Wed. to get done. Very nervous, but excited as well. Just becareful with the solid foods. The reason you are not to be eating solids is because your stomach needs to heal. Best of luck to you!!
  4. Wow, I'm glad you are okay after that. Good luck on your liquid diet. I go in on Wednesday to get sleeved! I think I'm going to do an all liquid diet tomorrow.
  5. Happy to hear from you! Yes, the gas pains can be worse than the surgery itself. Don't rush going home! I, too rushed going home after c-section, it turned into a big mess. Got a big ole infection do to not proper resting. When I'm home, I feel like I need to do stuff. Good luck and take it easy! Good luck to you!
  6. Same here! Let's do it and move onto better things in life.
  7. My preop doesn't consist of liquids, but may do the two day liquid just to be sure all is good.
  8. I know, thank you! I think it's just the fear of the unknown, I guess. Plus, my daughter (she's 8) is becoming worried. I can feel it. She's stuck to me like glue...so that makes it harder for me.
  9. Thank you!! I definately will post when I get home! I'm going to have withdrawl from this site while I'm gone . I have found the best support in you all.
  10. i didn't need to do a liquid diet. My surgeon requires a low-fat Atkins diet for two weeks. Is your surgeon requiring the liquid diet? Count back two weeks from your surgery date and that's when your diet will start. If you are doing liquid, you will change to all liquids on that day.
  11. Wish I had 1/2 of your energy right now. My emotions are all over the place! April 4 is coming really quickly.
  12. I know!! I would love to bring my Ipad, just to play. But the good news is if all goes well, I will be out of the hospital the next day. I did buy a book and am saving it for Wednesday. I will be in Lehigh Valley Hospital.
  13. Okay, good! Your body will be adjusted to the liquid within the first few days of preop. You should be fine. Good luck!!
  14. So great to hear from you!! Glad you are doing well!
  15. Every person is different with the preop diet. Some get the headache the first couple days. I, however, got it on the 3rd day and it only lasted one day. How many days will you be on the diet before your husband's party?
  16. Good luck to you! Yes, I believe bringing less is good. I go in on Wednesday (locally) and I'm taking lip balm, a book, slippers, toothbrush, and change of clothes to come home in. Just packing a small bag. My hospital specifically stated that I cannot bring any electrical equipment - cell phone, lpad, etc.
  17. Best of luck on your journey! I know the insurance can be worrisome. That was my worst fear, being denied. The surgeon's office took care of everything and I was approved the first time. My insurance believes in WLS. As long as your a candidate and your insurance covers it, you should not have a problem. Good luck!! This is a great site for information and for support.
  18. I'll be right there with you through your journey!! I'm also April 4. I'm getting so nervous. I'm so tired during the day because I haven't been sleeping well at night. However, this is not the time I should be resting. I want to get a lot done before Wed. laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. I just feel like I have no energy to do anything. I, like you, have told very few people. I don't want to deal with negative reactions. Ultimately, this is my decision and I'm sticking to it This is just the beginning!! We have an exciting journey ahead. Good luck to you!! Can't wait to hear how you are doing postop!
  19. Wow, look at you!! That is awesome!! Congratulations!!
  20. Hi! Welcome to the group!! I'm finding this site a great support group. Also, does your hospital offer support groups for WLS?
  21. First week preop, I will be on clear liquids. Second week, full liquids, and third week, pureed food. Then I will move to mushies and finally start adding solid food as tolerated.
  22. Good luck tomorrow!! Sending well wishes your way. Please keep us posted!!
  23. I know!! I'm spending all this money on new clothes that I need bigger. Something is not right with that picture! I started going through my clothes today and found so many smaller sizes with tags on. So I think I'm set for a while. We can do it!!
  24. Hi Daniellec, Here is what my nut told me. If you drink Protein drinks, make sure they need to be clear for the first week. I just ordered the Syntrax Nectar that you mix with Water. She told me to try to get some protein in the first week, however, if you can't do it, then don't. It would be good to get some protein the first week, but not necessary. When you get to the full liquid stage, then you need to worry about your protein drinks. Hope this helps!
