  1. Congrats to you!! Yes, definatley both feeling for me too. I'm so excited, but nervous. I got my phone call yesterday . . . it was so exciting. I started my preop diet today and keep thinking to myself, wow, in two weeks. I couldn't sleep last night because I'm so excited. I am trying different Protein shakes and bought my Vitamins yesterday. Seems so final after the phone, doesn't it?
  2. I also ordered my vitamins from unjury. Shipping is $5, can't beat it. Yes, I have seen the syntax nectar. Maybe I'll order those too. I added the chocolate Protein to my coffee this morning and it was good. It is sweet though. But I don't mind my stuff sweet
  3. I just talked to my hairdresser. Haven't had surgery yet, but am concerend with hairloss after. He told me about Aveda Invati. He says your hair can just break off and this helps prevents breakage. I did some research and it seem some people are using this after bariatric surgery. I'm not promising anything, but it may work. Good lucki!
  4. I will be on a low-fat atkins diet for two weeks. My surgeon requires this to all his patients regardless of BMI to shrink your liver.
  5. Hi SkinnyMom2b, My diet starts tomorrow. I'm ready!! Got my Protein samples in the mail, so I will be trying them with different drink recipes. I want to get the Isopure clear drinks. I've heard that more people like them as compared to others. Just ordered all my Vitamins today. It is exciting, isn't it!!
  6. That's great! Welcome to the group! I love this site. I find myself on here multiple times a day. I was originally going to get the band because my insurance didn't cover the sleeve. I was very fortunate that during my three month program, my insurance changed and started covering the sleeve in Jan. The sleeve was my first pick...I knew it was the right decision.
  7. Oh no, scratch that!! That is a forum. We can create an April 2012 group. Let me know since we have a lot of interest.
  8. Wow, thanks for all the responses. The support we can all provide one another would be great!! There is an April 2012 sleever forum I just joined. Doesn't seem very active as of now, but we can change that
  9. Randi, Yes, I definatley feel like that. Especially when I sit, I feel so uncomfortable and feels like my belly keeps hanging out more and more each second. This past week I have really felt like that!! Or if I walk past a mirrored wall at the mall or something, I get a glimpse of myself and think, really?? that's what I look like. Can't wait to get to the point when I look in the mirror for something other than looking at only myself from neck & up.
  10. I will have to check the FB page out as well! Sounds great to look into. Carly, April 1 is just right around the corner . That's so exciting!!! Did you need to do a preop diet?
  11. This is so exciting!! Definately need company and support during this endeavor. I start my two week low-fat atkins diet tomorrow. Friday I go for my preadmissions testing, then I have my final PCP and surgeon appts. next week. April is almost here. It's going to go really fast. I live in Pennsylvania (outskirts of Allentown). How about everyone else?
  12. Hi! I'm Courtney. Just got the phone call that I'm approved. April 4 is my big day. I start preop diet tomorrow. Can't wait for this to come!! Good luck to everyone and can't wait to hear about your changed postop.
  13. Hi! Congrats!! I just got my phone call that I'm approved and my surgery is scheduled for April 4. I start my preop diet tomorrow. I have never been so excited about a diet before.
  14. Hi! Looking for a sleeve buddy. Is anyone getting sleeved around April 4?
  15. I just got approved!! Woohoo!! I'm so excited!!! April 4 is the big day . . . can't wait to start this journey!! Many of you have become such an inspiration to me that it just makes this journey so much more exciting!!
  16. The nutrionist told me that at the beginning, I would probably only be taking in 600 calories. But when all is healed and feeling good, I will should stick between 1000-1200 calories a day.
  17. How exciting!! Best of luck!! Keep us posted post-op.
  18. Hi! I completed my three month program on 2/29 and on 3/1 my surgeon's office sent a letter to me stating that they will be sending in all the paperwork to insurance. Today I called my insurance company, but they haven't received it yet. I then called the bariatric center and they said they probably just haven't received it yet. Does anybody know approximately how long the process from the surgeon's office to insurance takes. I thought for sure they would have had it a week later, but I'm not sure of all of the leg work that has to get done either. Any help would be greatly apprecited!! Thanks!!
  19. That is awesome!! That is going to be one of my milestones as well . . . weighing less than my husband. Good for you!! Yes, it is daylight savings time. I'm longer forward to longer day light
  20. I can't wait to experience that!! My problem is the opposite. I cannot fit into any clothes from last spring, they are all too tight. With this gorgeous weather we are having, I wanted to wear something "springy." Nope, not going to happen since I can't button anything. Thankfully, I am keeping my range of clothing sizes so I have stuff for when I'm postop.
  21. Good luck to you too, Steve! Thanks for the pointers!
  22. The waiting game can be intense for all of us . Yesterday was the one week waiting period for me. I'm the same way with the phone ringing. I get so excited when I hear it ring or if I'm gone, see that I have a phone message and hope that it's the surgeons office. I just really want to hear the words that I'm approved. Keeping my fingers crossed that we all get the approval we so desperately need.
  23. I know, it is so hard to wait! Keeping my fingers crossed and praying that evrything happens quickly for you. 7-10 days for insurance is great! Mine can take up to 6 weeks, ugh!! I may not even know before I start my preop diet. I'm not sure if this will help you, but this is how I quit. They are putting graphic pictures on packs of cigerettes (sp) in September. They are very graphic and not nice to look at. When I heard about the packing, I quit cold turkey. I did not want my kids seeing the pictures of what could happen to their mom. It just all becomes too real with the pictures. Even though they were not on the packs yet, it still gave me good motivitation. Then when I had the urge, I would go on the computer and looked at the pictures. It helped me a lot. Did you need to attend any preop classes? I attended two and they were great, very informative.
