  2. I am 6 months out, and I am a food addict. I am only down 42 lbs....down 2 this week after a 5 week stall. So for me, 38 lbs to go. I think about food a lot. Some days are worse than others. I am hoping that I will become less interested in food as time goes by. I am over 50, so I think losing may be a little harder. I say if I can do it, anyone can. I might be slow, but I'm still a LOSER. And honestly, if I never lost another lb., I would still be happy I had the surgery. I fall into the overweight category now, and for that, I am thankful. Of course, I will try to get to goal, and believe that I eventually will.
  3. You can try prilosec over the counter, it is a proton pump inhibitor, just like dexilant, but much more affordable. If its acid, then prilosec should do it. It can take up to 48 hours for complete relief. that's the only bad thing about PPIs.
  4. For me, the crazy noises lasted for a couple months. It almost was like my stomach was growling, but I knew I wasn't hungry. Crazy noises are normal. I don't think you're overeating.
  5. I'm almost 6 months and in the same boat.... down 41 lbs. missing A LOT of hair. No weight loss in 5 weeks.
  6. Under the tongue. Sub="under", lingual="tongue"

  8. Intrinsic factor is necessary for the absorption of B-12, and it is produced in your stomach. Since most of our stomach is gone, there is less intrinsic factor produced, so, in turn, less B-12 absorption. Taken sublingually, it is absorbed....that's why we take it that way. At least that's what I kind of remember from nursing school, so I might be a little off. My surgeon only suggests supplementing once a week.
  9. I am almost 6 months out, and have averaged 2 lbs for the last 2 months, sorry, it hasn't picked up again, but would love to hear from someone has.
  10. Randalljohn, Yes. I am 5 months out, and I have quite an appetite. I have not gained any weight back, but have not lost in over 5 weeks. I know that days that I focus on protein, and really push the water, then I do better. But if I have a half piece of toast or something else with carbs, then its all over for that day. I know a lot of this is in my head...I am totally obcessed with food. My stomach doesn't really growl, but I always want to eat. It's a battle to say the least. You are not alone. I, too, would appreciate any suggestions. Counseling, yeah, I tried it. I know its not what I'm eating, its what's eating me, but I can't seem to identify what IT is.
  11. I had to drink a bottle of mag citrate, it wasn't that big. It works pretty quickly, so stay clost to home! I would definitely follow the directions of your surgeon, everything they order is for a reason.
  12. I'm not telling, because I guess I'm a pig.
  13. You can't. No fat suit will ever put a skinny person in a fat person's head. It's an addiction. I personally cannot understand how someone can be addicted to cigarettes. So I just imagine that that is how a skinny person sees a food addiction. Some skinny people may be able to rationalize that, but really truly understand it and feel it? No, not going to happen.
  14. 1. When I can dry my jeans all the way in the dryer.
  15. MsApril, I think 56 lbs is good. I am approaching my 5 month mark, and only down 34 lbs.
