  1. I went for my 1 week post op and got my staples removed !!! Yeah!! Feel 100% better. My dr. told me I could start having mushy foods. I was able to eat 2 scrambled eggs with cheese. Is that too much for the first time? I didn't have the usual full you get before the band; it was more of a chest painpressure. Is that the full feeling?? Any info would help!!! I have lost 11 lbs!!!!
  2. They use a special tool; It is pretty neat. The tool bends the staple in the middle and the "legs" just come right out!! My biggest incision is about 3 inches long
  3. I was just banded on 8-20 and I am still on liquids; so I know I am not taking too big of bites! Wish I was though....everything smells soooo good!! LOL
  4. Wonderful! Besides the chest pressure I get every once in a while. Ready to get the staples out! My stomach is itching!! How are you?
  5. just wondering if anyone has experienced chest pressure after the surgery and how long does it last and what is it????? My chest gets really tight for a few seconds and then it passes. They told me is was from them blowing me up during surgery. How long does it last for?? Thanks for any info!!
  6. That is what they told me something about if the liver was too heavy to lift and it started bleeding and blurred the screen then they would have to cut my open....my thoughts were you are already cutting me 2-3 inches what is another 2-3!!!!
  7. Thank God for sprite!!! I could not do the broth thing. Once I got past the first day I was fine. I did have a salad the second night. I am diabetic so they told me if I had to eat to eat something low in fat. So I indulged!!!! Ready to start eating real food now. Did your Doctor say why you could only have the protein shakes?
  8. I was banded on August 20. 2003! Still new to me. Had to do clear liquids 5 days before the surgery. Can have anything that will go into a straw for 2 weeks after the surgery. Then mushy foods for 2 weeks after that then hopefully a normal diet. Going to Florida for vacation at the end of Sept. and hoping to be able to nibble at the resturants.
  9. I was banded on August 20, 2003!! Just one more to the growing list!!
  10. Hello everyone! I was banded on August 20, 2003. Still in the new stage, liquids only. Good news is that I am not hungry. I have my one week follow-up tomorrow. Ready to get the staples out. My dr. did not give any pain meds only Tylenol liquid, so I am very glad that I am past the first 2-3 days :-). Love reading everything everyone has to say!!!
