I Want To Tell Everybody About The Band!!
I'm not banded yet, but I've also thought about sharing my future surgery with a stranger. But it's not my place, they have to want to change and find the way that works for them. I want to have surgery because I want more children and it can't happen at this weight. I also don't want my son to remember me at this size.

This Is My Month To Get Banded
Hi everyone! I'm looking at a first week of September surgery date. I have a few things left to do (see below), I hate the 6 month wait but it's been good to not havee to rush all these things. I also would probably be able to be done in August but my husband will be away for a conference and I need his help with my son.

Looking Forward
I'm excited to be a "normal" weight, to not worry about fitting into plane seats/rollercoasters/ etc., and having a cute baby bump when we try for another child.

Everybodies Pregnant But Me
I'm so sorry! I'm feeling the same way, I still have to be banded and then I want to wait at least a year, so I'm hoping for a 2014 baby. I hope you get down to your goal ttc weight soon so that you can start getting it on

Fertile After Being Banded?
You're right, I did. Thanks, I was totally confused that she said that. Now I look like a dunce!

Fertile After Being Banded?
I don't see who this can be true. If you're not having a period or having an anovulatory cycle, being banded (aka loosing weight) could help regulate your cycle and thus it has effected your fertility.

Are You Going To Tell Anyone About Your Surgery???
You should do what you feel comfortable with. I've told my close friends and a few family members, I figure anyone who is a real friend will be supportive and understanding.

6 Month Pre-Op Diet Seems To Taking Forever! Oh And I'm New :)
I'm in month two and while it seems to be taking forever, I'm kinda liking the pace at which I can get appointments done. I feel like if I didn't have to wait I would rush, rush, rush to get it done and be frazzled.

Not Doing Good
Seems like you are. I'm not banded yet but I'm sorry you're going through this set back. And that's what it is, a set back, you can get over this hump and get back on track. Believe you can do it and ask for help when you're not sure.

Plication
This is from my doc's website- The Banded Plication is a new investigational procedure that is a combination of the Gastric Banding and the Gastric Plication. It involves reducing the stomach volume by imbricating and stitching (plicating) the outer curvature part of the stomach reducing its size. There is no stapling or rerouting the intestinal tract with this procedure, like with the Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy. A study suggests that the gastric placation will have the weight loss results of the gastric bypass with complication rate anticipated to be similar to the gastric banding, being able to combine the best of both worlds! Advantages No rerouting of intestinal track Not a malabsorptive procedure No cutting of the stomach No adjustments needed Significant long and short term weight loss Possibly Reversible however long term data to prove

Pre Op Weight Loss
The doctor at the seminar said that everyone is required to lose weight before surgery and for him it's based on your starting weight but I have heard about people needing to lose a % of their weight. I was just wondering what others had to do.

Pre Op Weight Loss
How much did you have to lose? And how did you do it?
