  2. I am also through my husbands insurance but I called Cigna specifically and bariatric surgery is covered when meeting their criteria. Im praying they dont make me jump through hoops lol. I hope your surgery goes well. As far as the liquid diet goes my guess is that it will be hard pre op but post op you will be too scared to want to eat something crunchy
  3. good luck to us all! praying Cigna is quick
  4. This afternoon we submitted my paperwork to Cigna. I have a bmi of 41 with no other health issues. I quit smokin 4 & 1/2 weeks ago and I have been eating healthier already. I am so ready for the anxiety of not knowing to be over. two more hurdles...insurance approval then apply for financing for my out of pocket portion. I will be on pins and needles lol. Any prayes or well wishes is greatly and deeply appreciated.
  5. sending good Mojo your way. i will pray for you.

  7. thanks everyone!!!
  8. im still pre op but went for an hour walk today.....wow i have horrible chaffing in the crease of each leg. I live in Texas and it gets hot here. what kind of underwear and clothing should I wear to prevent chaffing in such a hot humid climit??
  9. This has been an eye opening and exhausting thread....thank you everyone for sharing your experiences and advice. Good luck to you all
  10. Sorry phone doesnt like me to quote and reply. Anywho what you just wrote felt sincere. Some of the other comments felt judgy. And considering the fact that i am thinking of keeping work in the dark i am sure you can tell im sensitive. All in all i want to scream it from the mountains but I am not strong enough for that, who knows maybe after surgery I will be.
  11. Comment was not directed twords you. If you read through all the posts you would see why I am annoyed. Its one thing to state an opinion in a nice way as you have done. It is another thing to continue on and on amd on about your opinion and calling people liars ect.
  12. Well by all means, post away, post away. I tend not to give a negative opinion unless asked for it, but go ahead. Seems you are changing lives right here. :/
  13. It is judgements...like these....that keep people from wanting to share. Omitting the part about surgery or telling people you are having a different surgery is up to each person. We do not deserve to be judged for it. So take your opinion and judgements elsewhere if you dont agree with the topic. Nowhere in this topic did myself or anyone ask "is it ok to keep it to yourself". These types of statements come across as sitting on your high horse, judging people that you were.not asked to judge. Thanks
  14. Falls...are you stalking me .....you know how I feel about you dear friend.....you are my inspiration.
  15. So happy that there are people here that are already confident and "dont care what people think". I hope to someday be just like you. But...to be honest, I started this thread to ask how people have faired at work when not wanting to share the news of thier surgery. I dont feel the need to share this with people who are not family or friends, and that I do not know personally. I do not feel it is my responsibility to help anyone decide they want surgery. I do wish everyone luck on their journey
  16. There is a reason a lot of people are overweight, a lot of it has to deal with emotional issues, and with that comes lack of confidence and insecurity. I know how stupid it is for myself to care so much what others think or say about me. I know I shouldnt value what snotty b*****s think about me, but unfortunately, I do. One of things I miss most about being healthy is confidence! Even after surgery and weightloss.....i probably wont tell people at work though. I feel it is too intimate to share with people I dont know, or people who dont care about me.
  17. I am a firm believer in either both people working really hard to fix their relationship or walking away. Sometimes all it takes is one person to start treating the other person better and being more loving....even if they dont deserve it now. Shower them with support and love and if they dont start coming around well, then its time to give them the ultimatum, therapy or divorce. I left my ex after doing everything I could for 3 years. My daughter is still devistated at times and it was rough on her. I decided it was better she didnt grow up seeing her parents miserable and fighting. I am married now and she will grow up seeing a healthy relationship.
  18. Oh wow. I am so sorry your husband did that to you. My husband have gone round and round about him wanting to tell his parents. I have decided that I dont want them to know, only because i am new to the family and I worry his mom will tell everyone. She is a medical gossip tells everyone about everyone elses medical issues ect. (Shes a nurse). I just dont know the rest of the family well enough to not feel uncomfortable. I dont even know most of them by name yet. Lol. I really wish you the best of luck.
  19. That is awesome for you. Unfortunately, not everyone is in a place where they feel theycn be as open and confident with their decision as you are. Not everyone has people who would be supportive or non judgemental. People like myself from abused backrounds are harder on themselves and are brought up feeling loads of shame and the thought of more people judging them gives them anxiety and pain. And some people are just private in general.
  20. I understand. I feel fine telling my friends and family....no problem there, but honestly a lot of the women at work are super judgemental. Take today, it wasva coworkers and my birthday so they got us cupcakes. You should have seen the nasty up and down look two of us got from a member of management as we were eating out cupcakes . First she looked at the cupcakes on our plates, scoffed then looked us up and down. Another time, we were discussing at lunch that we needed to get ourselves into the gym and our gym patterns ect. Well another snotty memeber of management scoffed and said " well dont stop going, I havent missed a day at the gym in 16 years" then walked away. Just rude. If it was some nobody at work I could care less, but management is different. Some of these women are extremely snotty. I would prefer they didnt know.
  21. There is so much that will be different, the 3 weeks of liquids only, then mushy, then tiny meals following with weighloss as well. Seems like it would be a dead giveaway. I mean is there anyway to be discreet about this lol?
  22. I have decided today, that I do not want to tell anyone at work about having surgery. Lets just say there are a lot of snotty little b*****s who snarl and look you up and down when your eating.your own birthday cupcake. So, is there any way possible to keep it a secret? Any expieriences? i was toying with saying i was having abdominal surgery but now after today im thinking of taking vacation for a week and not saying anything about surgery. I work a desk job. But we do some lifting of boxes on occasion? Agghhhb
  23. Just figured I would post this interesting fact that I learned on a documentary on obesiety recently. If you have ever been overweight, in order to maintain your weightloss you will have to eat 20% less than someone with the exact same body type, height/weight that has never been over weight. My suggestion is to contact your NUT or surgeon and talk openly about your diet. They can help you come up with the correct calories to eat in order to acheive more weightloss. BTW...you both look Fab!!!!
