  1. I also call Bandwagon, Jean's book, my bible. I move it from room to room and have a whole "deck of cards" of quotes from the book that I review when on my exercise bike or treadmill.
  2. Fantastic as usual, Jean! I have been at/on a plateau for 3 weeks.Very frustrating. The checklist helped me see the reasons in black and white. I especially can see poor sleep, or in my case, not enough sleep, as a factor in my personal plateau. Thank you!!!
  3. Love "Lane Giant"!!!! So happy to not have to shop there any longer!
  4. I am no longer able to eat bagels!!!! This is kind of sad. I thought I would try it toasted with a bit of butter and mall bites, chewed well...... Alas, I learned the hard way with a major stuck feet, lesson learned.....
  5. No roast pork, corned beef, bagels, doughnuts, chicken breast. But, I learned to make great soft meatballs. This week going to try some veggie burgers......
  6. Be careful with Cigna. I have heard they are very strict and may require lots of " jumping through hoops"!!!!
  7. I started taking Twinlab Biotin Dots. They are 300mcg, you take 2 per day. They are small dots and chewable.
  8. Read the book, " 21 day Kickstart" for information about vegan lifestyle/ eating. A new program starts in early September.
  9. Going to start biotin Monday. Already take gummie multi, calcium and fiber.
  10. I had this feeling about 2 weeks post-op. occasionally, I still get the feeling that I miss, yes, actually miss, food!!!! When I see/smell fresh pizza or people are talking about food or restaurants. The worst was the food commercials on TV!!!!! Now, 6 months post-op, I have those feelings about once or twice a month. My cure was to find things other than food, to fill that space. I took up knitting again and I am doing more reading and yard work. I find I have more energy at the end of the day so that I can do more! It has been a wonderful learning experience!
  11. Doctor suggested trying out the problem type foods. Small amounts , chewed well, protein first. Know that some foods will go down easy and next day, not so much. It is trial and error, learning to eat with the band. I don' eat turkey or chicken breast, too dry. Also, corned beef, one of my favorites, but I had my first, and hopefully last, stuck episode with corned beef! The band helps me stay away fom doughnuts and cookies, pastries.more of a focus on healthy, real foods.
  12. I told no one except one or two people. Co- workers are beginning to notice that I have lost weight.I just say thanks and change the subject. But, one person said " that was fast! Did you have surgery?" I just said no, and changed the subject. Some people can be so rude.
  13. I liked the Orgain chocolate. I also use Unjury chocolate and vanilla. Both great.
  14. Told only husband . No one at work knows. Not fear of failure, just didn't want people to know my medical history. None of their business and plus I don't need to hear their opinions.my life, my weight, my issues. Remember you cannot"un-ring that bell"!
