Wonderful! My mom just got her date. 9/25. She has your starting stats and also many health issues. I hope she will be as successful as you. I myself will head ti mexico in March, so she'll have a few months ahead of me. : )

Well, one step closer. I will be using my taxes to fill in the financial gap. I'll be headed to Mexico with Dr. Kelly 3/28/13. It's a long way off but at least I feel like I have something concrete to look forward to. Loser bench in sight, albiet be through a pair of binoculars. : )

Elle, I know its frustrating and after surgery, we want to be like "poof" skinny me. Lol But be patient, work that tool! You have made wonderful progress in 2.5 months. I mean wow..really great progress. You'll get there. Heck, by next summer, you may not go on the lazy river cuz you keep fallin thru the hole...grin. Chin up! : )

Wow. U brought tears to my eyes. I have a son, nearly 13. I dream of being able to do just this kind of thing with him. One of my main reasons for the surgery. Thank you for sharing. I hope someday, I will hear those words from him.

There are no broad sweeping statements.The "sweeping statement" you reference was no such thing. It was an opinion of a book character only. Which was twisted to be a real life statement. The book character since that is what was originally the topic. The conversation about a book that lead to societies views. An understandable breakoff since the books are of a risque nature. Shrug...

I haven't read them and had considered because of the hype. But thank you to all who prevented me from wasting my money. BDSM probably draws some as it is an underground topic. I would assume the books would sell partly from curiosity, partly for the fact we can read them and place ourselves into our darkest fantasies safely without actually taking part. We all have some dom/sub parts to our personalities. I personally have no desire to read about a weak minded submissive woman as I would quickly lose all respect for the female character. That, and well, being feminist I don't think I could read a male sexually dominant character and get into it. The reviews of it being poorly written just cinched its place on the "no buy" list.

Some insurances don't or won't cover wls. Wls is 5-9000(approx) in mexico compared to 12-22000 in the states. So for most self pays the surgery would be out of reach. Most docs in Mexico have performed more sleeves and longer than most US docs, so its a safe alternative choice for those unable to obtain the surgery here.
