  1. Cheri, thanks for the support. Janet, I agree with Queen of Crop. That does seem very slow. Do you have a NUT you are working with? Also, I would be doing a followup with someone to find out what I need to change. Are you getting in any exercise? Getting in all of your fluids and plenty of sleep? Hope you find something to spur you on soon. Queen, I see you are in Hawaii now. I do envy you all of your great travels.
  2. My tentative surgery date has been confirmed. Also my followup visit is two weeks after surgery, so looks like I will have a full two weeks off, YEAH! Now makeing a checklist to make sure all bases are covered at work and at home. Thankful to have the two weeks off because my Mom is having caterac surgery, so I will be able to take her for that.
  3. Decatur, Tx. Dr. Scott Stowers.
  4. Just got my date, June 5! YEAH!

Great plan in place. The only think I would add is to make sure you get 7-8 hrs of sleep per night. Lack of sleep messes with your hunger hormones, plus is a deterent to lossing weight.
  7. Insurance companies can be very exasperating to say the least.
  8. I think the impact of surgery's, anesthetics, and pain killers play havoc on many peoples emotions. I haven't had my sleeve yet, but when I had my hysterectomy I was a mess! My husband might think of dropping me off at a hotel with my water and protein and coming back to pick me up in a couple of weeks, lol. He barely survived that surgery. I'm sure he won't be looking forward to this.
  9. Barbara, thanks for sharing your pictures. You were beautiful before, and even more so now!
  10. Hi Melissa. I know how you feel. I have just been approved and waiting for my date. Hope it will be in the next few weeks. Looking forward to the other side of being sleeved.
  11. Great job! Thanks for keeping us up to date!
  12. thanks for the information!
  13. WTG Lissa - what a great NSV!! Keep it up.
  14. I do understand, because I am just finishing up with my 6 months of wait time. It will go much faster than it seems right now. (of course that is easier for me to say since I just go my approval). The six months is a really good time to plan and get prepared. I know you can do this!! Just hang in there. You might go ahead and contact the surgeon you think you will be using. You might be able to do your six months through them, and they can provide information to make sure you are successful.
  15. WTO both of you! I am waiting to be scheduled for my surgery. Got my insurance approval today. Hope to be right in there with you soon!

I'm with you there. I have been a coke addict forever! Several years ago switched from Coke to Coke Zero to lose weight (didn't work). Went cold turkey 11 days ago. Hope to have the surgery soon, so I can smile about the pounds, and maybe forget the longing for the fizzy little bubbles.
  17. Probiotics are good for you to take after surgery, because the put back the good bacterias that our body needs after takeing the antiboitics.
  18. Newfoundlove - Sounds like you are doing great! Keep us up to date.
  19. Hi All! Great news today - - Insurance is approved!! Now waiting to talk to the scheduling people to get my date.
  20. Thanks for the update missileer. I hope I will be able to say the same for my skin when I am 4 months out.
  21. Should get my insurance approval by this next Thursday. Then they will schedule my surgery. Think I might start my liquid protein diet on Monday, maybe that will speed up surgery schedule date
  22. I had a six month wait also. My paperwork was turned in last Friday also. I was told my insurance usually takes one - two weeks to approve. "Patiently" waiting.
  23. I love hearing all of these success stories!
  24. There is a place in Dallas that does a single incision laproscopic vertical sleeve. Sometimes they go in through the belly button so there are no scars. You can search it on Youtube and find videos about it.
