  1. Hi all. Today feeling much better. I guess this is my third day post surgery. I have lost 9 of the 11 lbs I gained during surgery. I am able to take bigger sips than I thought I would be able to, but have to be careful or I get the hiccups or start burping, which I discovered does not feel good. I'm suppose to be on clear liquids for 7 days, then I go to full liquids.
  2. Feeling more like myself today. Have lost about 9 of the 11 lbs I gained. Can drink bigger sips than I thought I would be able to, but have to be careful or I get the burps or hiccups. And they hurt. I have taken very little pain medication. Sleeping fairly well. Not really hungry, but for some reason yesterday I had cravings for potato chips. Not sure if I was needing salt or what was going on there. Hope those of you having your surgery today are doing well.
  3. I had my surgery on June 5th. Just got home last night. Not really hungry either. Was shocked to see I had gained 11 lbs. Trying to figure out how that was possible.
  4. I wish you all the best in finding a doctor to do the surgery.
  5. Ssilian - thanks for the encouragement. This is my first day at home. Trying to get my liquids in. I'll be able to tell you better by the end of the day. I know it seems like I need to be burped like a baby after I swallow (especially if I take too big a swallow) I have a glass of waster and a glass of nectar protein sitting right here by me and I am trying to take a sip of both every few minutes. Basically feeling pretty good, just extremely tired, and I have trouble getting comfortable to sleep. I usually sleep on my side, and that doesn't feel real great right now. Not very much actual pain though.
  6. Well I'm Home. Got home last night. THought I had posted here but must have forgotten to hit the post button. How can you come home from all of that nothing at all and only liquids, and gain 11 lbs? Talk about discouraged. :-(
  7. Posting in. Surgery was on the 5th. Doing well.
  8. Hi all. Home now and made it through surgery just fine. Pretty tired. was slightly depressed when I got home and stepped on the scale and had gained 11 lbs. Hopefully that will go down quickly. not sure how a body does that after not eating anything
  9. Finished my first day of clear liquids today. Head off tomorrow for my pre-op, then surgery on Tuesday. Hopefully will be back home on Wednesday evening. Talk to everyone soon.

  21. Got my date - June 5. Very soon now.
  22. Queen, I just read your latest blog and couldn't agree more. My hubby is not quite as thin as yours, he is 150 and 5'10. He also seems to be able to eat anything he wants and does not have a regular workout schedule. Just whenever. I have also been told that you need to eat around 1600 calories to maintain, and will lose if you eat 1400 and work out a little. Nope, I gained. Then everyone said I just was not counting my calories accurately. I weighed and logged every single bite I ate. I can gain on 1200 calories if I don't work out. My documentation for my surgery states I should be eating about 900 calories until I reach goal, then up it to about 1200 calories to maintain. (If I'm remembering correctly from my reading).
