  1. I did call the airlines, and they suggested buying the more expensive ticket
  2. Not sure what adverse things you have seen on Dr Kelly, but he is my choice over Garcia for a few reasons. Dr Garcia has five years bariatric experience, Dr Kelly has fourteen! Dr Kelly belings to the prestigeous FACS, Garcia does not. Dr Kelly also belongs to the American Bariatric Association. In my opionion, he is much more qualified, and he wouldnt belong to the FACS if anything you read was more than just idle gossip. at any rate, choose your doctor on their credentials, skill, and follow up care. Good luck
  3. My aunt thinks we should purchase a ticket for the way home, that allows us to change dates in case of of any complications. Although, in theory, it sounds reasonable, I have yet to see anyone to have to change their flight to a later date. That type of return ticket is almost double the cost. I just want to know what all you fine people think!
  4. Why slimfast? Wht not just a dlacored protein shake? Slimfast has lots of sugar added that im not sure you would want
  5. So, my husband's aunt and cousin and I are heading to Mexico in 8 Weeks for surgery. I have a love/hate relationship with my mil, and she has a big flapping mouth. None of the three of us want dh's mother to know why we are going on "vacation", so I strictly told my hubby that he is NOT to tell his mother anything other than we are going on a girls retreat to celebrate the cousins upcoming wedding. Lol, well, my hubby didn't care for me telling him not to tell his mom. He became defensive of her! I quickly told him is is not his mothers business to know our private business. I'm worried that my dh will spill the beans and upset his aunt and cousin. Help!
  6. Im sorry you're having the bloating! :/ but so glad yoyre doing well! Keep walking gf, tell us more!!
  7. Thank you so much! Those two ladies are some of my favorites, and having them share in this experience, and getting healthier in the process means so much!
  8. Debly, I miss our texts. I think I drive my aunt crazy with phone calls lol, but now I can bug my cousin too!
  9. Wow, that's a great testament to his credentials! Less than two months for me and the family, we are anxious, nervous, and excited!
  10. I'm so relieved to have my loved ones with me! Deb, yes, yummy broth, you're on!
  11. Well, I have moved up my date to June 11th! Also, along with my aunt (whom I love and adore) my cousin (aunts daughter) is being sleeved as well! Im so blessed to have the love and support of my family, and to have them be my sleeve sisters and support means so much! Dr Kelly should give me a kickback for btinging in two extra people lol. Im so glad that they agree that Dr Kellys expertise is second to none! Im so excited to be in Tj when my sleeve buddly Delby is having her surgery. Cant wait!
  12. She can reach him at wls-clinic@yahoo.com. There is a lot of gossip and innuendo, but what it basically boils down to, is she needed a change.
  13. Dr's like that are closed minded and ignorant. My pcp did his schooling in Mexico, and he is a wonderful internist. All that she would have to do is run labs and, and monitor your diet. A nurse practitioner could handle that. Be glad to be rid if her, and I wish you luck with your new pcp
  14. Congrats on your journey! How great that you will have others going on the same day. As far as I know, it is only me in my aunt on my date of june 9th. and honestly, that would be just fine with me :-) good luck to you and keep us posted!
  15. Thats awesome! I bet June is buzy for a lot of the surgeons!
  16. Dr Aceves is a fellow in the acs. In no way was I implying that the other drs werent good per sey, just that this is just another feather in Dr Kellys cap. And no, its not a sole purpose to make your decision on, but it does offer some comfort in a maze of drs, and most people have no idea what those letters mean.My question is, if they could, and they aren't, then why? They cater to a huge American clientele, why wouldn't they want to put their credentials to the test? I was asked to post about this, so I did. You made a choice that was in your best interest, so did I
  17. Men suck that wau!
  18. Cathy, I will be there just slightly ahead of you and debly! Debly and I had planned on meeting up at the hotel before I leave, hope that we can get together as well! Im so glad you have researched some more and found a surgeon that better suits your needs! If yoi jave any questions, feel free to inbox me!
  19. It does offer some mych needed reassurance to us, as we are making a serious life choice, and want what's best for us snd our families.
  20. I love all these positive stories about great experiences! Dr. Kelly is a consummate professional, and the more we post positively, the faster all the BS drama will go away! Im so happy for all of you, and can't wait to be sleeved by one of the best!

  22. I made a post about choosing a surgeon, and the FACS, check it out!
  23. You are in extremely qualified hands with your surgeon! You'll do great! Keep us posted!
  24. Having surgery in a foreign country is a tough decision to make. Knowing what surgeon to chose, was even harder. After combing these forums and the internet, something kept drawing my eye to a particulara surgeon, the letters FACS behind his name. members of the American College of Surgeons are referred to as "Fellows." the letters FACS mean that the surgeon's education and and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with a high standards of the College. Out of 78,000 members, only 4000 are in other countries that is the United States. Doctor Ramos Kelly, is this tijuana surgeon. it speaks volumes to his character and professionalism that he would undergo such riggers to be a fellow in this college.
