Has Anyone Experienced Anxiety With Having The Lab?
i think its so that the food doesnt slip through the band faster and in greater quantities than its supposed to?? that can cause problems over time.

Portion Size
yep.. tonight i got out the smallest bread and butter plate i had and dished a small amount onto that . i have a diet plate but ,honestly.... one needs to be disciplined even with that as its not as small as it could be. anyway, the very small side plate was good.

Had My First "stuck" Feeling Tonight
i wish i could say that i dont get stuck episodes. i think the main reason for my episodes, apart from not chewing enough, is that im distracted.. either by other people or t.v. Only time will teach me how to instinctively know what to do with each mouthful. i have noticed though that 99 percent of the time im counting automatically now before i swallow so thats a good start. its the concentration bit that gets to me. lol. anyone else have this problem?

Gas Pain Or Stuck Pain??
are you making up your Protein Drink with milk? i had big problems with very bad stomach pain until i realised it was the milk in the protein drink that was doing it. i stopped using milk, just use a little greek yoghurt now... within a few hours the dreadful pain had gone. i dont have milk in any other foods at all.

After Surgery Vitamins
sakura?? you take barley green as well?? i think you are the first person ive come across on here that does use it. do you use very cold Water to mix it in? and drink?? i find it a lot more palatable if its very cold. also... i like the liquid Vitamins.. they are very easy to digest. i also take a med for hypertension... so i crush it up in my morning cup of coffee... and it goes down well. i dont take any painkillers at all. not too bad for a 66 year old with arthritis... lol.. dont you think?... lol.

Trouble Identifying Real Hunger Vs Head Hunger
i know exactly what you mean. grazing was one of my faults as well. We are in the middle of the coldest winter here for many decades and im still battling with the confusion between head hunger and true hunger. i know the cold weather has a lot to do with things. prior to surgery i was sipping on hot Soups all the time, Hot drinks, grazing from out of the fridge... it was continual. I still have a tendency to do that...worse luck. This morning i had a stuck episode through chewing cold meat and swallowing way too quickly. i shouldnt have even been eating it as it wasnt a meal time. i dont know how long it will take me to conquer the head hunger.... do we ever manage to do that completely i wonder??

Drinking Enough Liquids
i think that as long as you keep hydrated and drink your protein drinks... by the way, are you on any vitamins? it will resolve itself. concentrate on your liquids mostly.
-
Tummy Hurts!!
im shocked that he would do that as well. when these things happen, you do need to go back onto clear liquids for at least 24 hours... then slowly introduce your foods again.

Sensible Bites...

Had My First "stuck" Feeling Tonight
..this is a downside of the band .. im finding that some days i can eat chicken, pork, etc... and other days i just cant. i just had a session over a small piece of bacon, which normally i have no issues with. im concluding that my band is a tad tighter today than normal. i think i can safetly say that my band is actually tighter some days then others. With this sort of variance, i never really know how im going to be.( i had an upset yesterday when a dear friend of mine died... from cancer). Im sure this affected the band. im not letting it stop me though. a very small bite, chew much, and see what happens. its not a nice experience, to be sure. i hope you dont have any more.

After Surgery Vitamins
i wasnt given anything specific to take. i just take a liquid vitamin... and some barley green powder. that seems to be enough but im goign to get some B12 and start injecting it to myself again. i want to get my vit D levels checked as well. Our state doesnt get that much sun... and most of the people who live here are deficient.

Does Anyone Knw If Flying Effects Restriction
thanks Teri... im eating a lot better now with that small unfill... isnt it amazing how much difference that amount can make? i will talk with the dr about it before we leave... i may even ask him to take a little more out?? i would rather not have enough than have too much for those two weeks.

Getting Stuck!
when i get stuck i get pain/discomfort in my pouch. it feels just like the food is being tossed around/churned like a washing machine. i get more saliva in my mouth ... eventually i cough up some slime. the slime is created by the stomach to help pass the food through the band. its not a nice feeling at all... but i have to say, in my experience ive not had difficulties in breathing.. perhaps others have here? i do get some pain through to the back as well if its bad.

2 Weeks Post Op Weightloss
it will work for you... try not to stress... perhaps a lot of your weight loss initially was Fluid. that happens most times. i lost nearly 14 pounds fluid the first week. Give you body time to heal and start to lose at a healthy rate. You dr does know whats best for you. the main thing is.... be positive about the outcomes.... good luck

Does Anyone Knw If Flying Effects Restriction
im glad that she met you halfway. I just had 0.50 taken out on friday... i couldnt cope with a 1cc fill, that was my second. it was funny in a weird way... when i went into the office there was another dr there. He didnt have my files... there were no files for patients in our city there. Apparently my dr has a surgery and another clinic in another city four hours travel by road away and he does so many hours a week there as well. when he left to go there he picked up the wrong city ?? wrong files?? so my files with all the other locals went north... lol. But, it wasnt a problem... i got my unfill... and im a lot better . Things happen. Im wondering now if i should get an unfill just before i fly north to catch a cruise boat with my grand daughter? early nov? i reckon i will somehow. My grand daughter doesnt know that Ive had the surgery and i dont want any issues to crop up.
