  1. i've been feeling a tightness in my throat for about the past two weeks...it started when i got sick with a cold and was having trouble swallowing thick phlegm...i still have a bit of a cold but my throat feels tight and i am beginning to think it is not related to the cold...i have also had two fills and cancelled my third due to this feeling...i have had three stuck episodes all totally my fault...but this tightness is irritating...no trouble breathing, but swallowing definitely feels weird and this is even when i'm not eating...

  5. i've been getting bills too and have uhc..my husband and i actually as he is banded too...it's annoying, but i call them and they have been taking care of it...they can't seem to figure out why i keep bills...i wish they would because each phone call with them is at least 30 minutes...well worth getting rid of all these bills we keep getting...

  9. so i am going on week ten of being banded and here is what that means: i can see my primary care doc every 6 months instead of twice a month to check my sugars because they are now in control i can get rid of all the pre-surgery prescribed medications in my cabinet i can exercise for over an hour and still be alive i can say no to breads, candies, cakes, and donuts i can say yes to a smaller size and weight i can have more energy i can be supportive of others may is here and i am ready to get busy...even though i am a little over two months banded i must say there are many days that i have come up short of the goals i have set for myself. i am feeling energized and ready to commit to a smaller set of goals for the month...i am hoping to hit onderland and get to the end of the couch to 5k routine...
  10. i have not noticed any difference in my cycle since being banded in february...
  11. i have tried wheat tortillas and did experience my first stuck episode...i was able to eat them again though but with much smaller bites and lots of chewing. i found some that were 120 calories, but don't make a habit of eating them...it was a nice treat from the lettuce wraps i'd been doing...i've eaten them about three times since being banded...

i have only been able to attend one since my surgery that is held at my surgical center and i found it to be amazing...most of the people were bypass patients but they were very warming and welcoming. i found that our struggles as wls folks are similar. the group was facilitated by the psychiatrist that completes our evals for pre-approval and he was brilliant. of course, i may be a little biased as a clinical social worker myself, but i think support groups, even peer mentored are very, very useful. who else can support you better than your own...you'll find me here often for the same reason...but there is nothing like real life support..hope this was helpful:)
  22. glad to know you are well...just a small phase to the beginning of the healthier you!
