  1. Im Mallory. I am a 21 year old female going into my senior year of college. I am majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in mathematics. I cannot wait to become a teacher. This is some of the influence for me getting my surgery because I want to the the best teacher and role model for children that I can be and this includes being able to do things with thme in all activities. I love to play sport, I am VERY active. I excell in softball where I play first base and bat usual fourth. I also am very good at defender in field hockey. I still live with my family consisting of my mom, dad and younger sister. They are my strength through this whole process...
  2. A bowel prep? Ive never heard anything of that... Does that mean I wont be getting that and what is it.
  3. I can have water, crystal light, 100% juice, soups but they have to be tomatoe soup or chicken broth, SF popsicles, SF jello and of course my protein shakes. Thats about all. I am going to stick to it 100% because I want my liver to be easy to get around for surgery.
  4. My surgery is also in 8 days and I have the extreme nerves too. Im only 21 and have so much more ahead of me and the thoughts do run through my mind as well!!

  20. Hello all. Im new to this age thread but I figured it would be good. Im 21 and getting my surgery in two weeks from today on the 20th. I am so nervouse!
  21. My pre-op diet is a week before my surgery. It conatins liquids ONLY. I need to have 3 protein shakes a day, a multivitamin and 600 mg of calcium. My liquids are clear liquids, 100% fruit juice, sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles, soups ( tomato soup or anything that is only broth, nothing in it ), skim milk... that pretty much covers it.
  22. Hello All... I beginning to get really nervous about the surgery. I am still really young and this is my first surgery/ being put to sleep. I just want everything to go smoothly and like its suppose to. I want to do everything right. Some questions... Are most of you exercising during the week before liquid diet?
  23. I will be getting banded on August 20th. Im so nervous but so ready for my new lifestyle. Ive never been put under before so this is ALL new! Keep in touch!
  24. I see that alot of people in their stories stayed overnight, from what I know im in the out-patiet surgery, why is this? Is the surgery pretty pain managable because I have never had surgery before and needles and things bother me. So i know this whole surgery will be an adventure!
  25. Thanks for the information. I am only a little worried about the liquid diet because it seems very challenging but I will make it through
