I suggest not buying a lot of protein powder or drinks up front. You may get sick of them and will be able to get enough protein from regular food.

You could try saying you are on a strict doctor supervised diet and would appreciate their support. Then, if they push the food, just say "No thank you." You shouldn't have to pretend you are eating/drinking and you shouldn't have to divulge your medical situation. Just be consistent. It is odd you aren't able to eat eggs. I have been on this board for more than 20 months and no one has said eggs are forbidden. From what I can tell, the other nutritionists including mine have said eggs in any form are acceptable at that stage. Oh well.

Travel. Not only travel, but in private planes. I love international travel but the inconvenience and discomfort of airline travel have ruined it for me. The Orient, eastern Europe, Australia, here I come. Oh wait, I guess I would have to play to win.

I agree with TES. I wouldn't keep my food in the fridge. It has nothing to do with cleanliness and everything to do with keeping healthy by eating the healthy foods brought from home. Pack your food to keep cold in your own space, not in the communal fridge.

I, too, have kept the information close. Only family know about my surgery. I was sleeved 14 months ago and have told those who remark on my weight loss that I have been dieting and exercising, which is certainly true.

I wasn't planning on telling anyone other than DH & my sister (by the way, I can so relate to the Mom relationship LOL and I'm 49 as well)....
I have 2 friends who have had WLS and we exercise twice a week together--and both were open about their surgery.....I feel badly not telling them, but once it's out in the open, it's out there, and I'd rather keep this close to home....

I hope you're doing well now. "To sleeve or not to sleeve" is obviously your decision. My best to you for your future.

I would like to suggest Cera Ve lotion for the skin. I started using it because I have eczema and it helps with the itching. It also acts to help minimize eczema. Anyway, my skin, which had been dry and flaky like yours is now soft and flakyless (I know that's not a word.). It doesn't leave an oily residue on the skin either. It has my highest recommendation.

What Writergirl said. Also, my nutritionist says any liquid, not just water, counts toward my 64 oz daily fluid goal.
