  1. I have been up since 245...couldnt sleep at all. I see the surgeon for my second pre-op appt with Surgeon, my surgery is in 2 days. I have followed my liquid diet with only one cheat (a dinner biscuit) back on my first day. However, im panicking that surgeon will come up with some reason to postpone my surgery...ive read a few stories on here of people who have gone through the liquid diet, and for one reason or another the doc would postpone it. she didnt give me a certain amount of weight to lose or anything, but i have lost a couple pounds, and I still have today and tomorrow of just liquids. So im not sure what she could possibly use as a reason to postpone it,,but i still cant help but worry. ugggh
  2. Hi, I typed LULULAPBAND into youtube and im not finding your video...is there a link somewhere i can use to get to it
  3. Today was much better, all the way around. I didnt cry a single time, and the amount of liquids ive been having are finally starting to keep my stomach from growling. lol
  4. Sorry to hear you are going through this, as well as others who have. It happened to my sister as well after she had the Bypass WLS. Fortunately for me, my small group of close friends..there are 2 others who have had WLS one did the band, the ohter did the band, gained it all back, then had the bypass. The entire group has stuck together so hopefully that will remain the same for me. those who do not remain your friend, never were true friends in the first place. Hopefully for those who have left your side due to jealousy, will soon see you made the right decision, and maybe get motivated to do the same thing for themselves. good luck with the rest of your weight loss and remember, you always have support here.
  5. Has anyone else found themselves in tears during their pre-op liquid diet? Im on day 3 and twice today i was bawling...1st was when hubby made Breakfast for him and my son..waffles and bacon (i dont like either thing so u would think it was all good) however the smell of bacon I loveee lol. I got up and went into my bedroom to get away from the smell...and i dont know if I was feeling lonely becasue i had to go sit alone to avoid the temptation, or if it was frustration, sadness, i couldnt tell ya..but i laid there and cried for about 15 mins...sobbing, not just crocodile tears. then about an hour ago...i told them they should still go to breakfast tomorrow (its our every sunday routine) they asked if i was sure i was ok with it and i said yes..and i meant it...they then started talking about what they wanted to have...they named off waffles pancakes bacon...again, things i dont even eat...they werent purposely taunting me, but i had to stop them cuz as they were saying it, the tears welled up again .... i didnt sob as hard but i still had them building up for a few mins. They both gave me a hug and said they were sorry. I dont fault them..they have to change certain things too, in order to try and make things easier on me. So please tell me im not over emotional and that others have had at least one "meltdown".
  6. Thursday Apr 26 is my surgery date. I have always enjoyed exercise..but ive been heavy my whole life so its never been easy..it still isnt easy..but i have been more motivated to push through since deciding to do this.
  7. my husband does our cooking..but everything he makes smells ridiculously good. This morning he made bacon..i hate the stuff..but love the smell. Had to lock myself in the bedroom to get away from the smell, and it didnt work..so put head under blankets lol. He seen how hard it was for me today, and said for next few wks he will try to make things with not so much aroma lol

  10. welcome Jodiec You have come to the perfect place for encouragement and support. We have all been through the ups and downs of this journey and are here for each other. You have your hands full with 3 children, especially with a 17 month old...but what a great gift you will give them when you give yourself the gift of a healthier lifestyle.
  11. This is great...I will be adding you as a friend and following your posts..I will be banded as of 4/26 so definitely interested in healthy recipes for after...
  12. I wasnt provided with a trainer...I had to get one myself through my gym ... I really cant afford it, but i figured if i worked with her once a week for two months prior to banding..i would get enough info and guidance and workouts to followw, that i can keep going once im healed. I have only used 5 iof the 8 sessions i purchased, and will get a note from surgeon on tuesday to "freeze" my workouts..this way i wont get charged again til i come back to it...so this will give me 3 workouts with her after my surgery..to help get me back into that routine. I have a very high Body fat % so she was focusing on stuff that would do cardio and strenght at the same time. The first 2 sessions were just cardio..so when i went on my own during those two wks, i didnt lose anything...then when she showed me stuff with the strength added into the cardio..after 2 wks i started to lose....so it seems that the exercises that do both..are most beneficial..for me anyway. a few examples of what she has me do...starts me out with steps (usually two levels high if using actual steppers) we do that for 1 min..then has me do two taps on what i call a "half palate ball" lol, where it sits flat on the floor. this starts my heart rate increase..then she has me hold a medicine ball or weight stick (about 9 lbs) and i sit down then stand up..each of these things are 1 min length. Then 9 lb medicine ball again, lifting diaginally upward to the right 10 times, then to the left 10 times. We do this routine 4 times in a session...then for added cardio..i asked her to add boxing in (she is training to be a boxer) and i love boxing so we spend about 10 mins doing that. She does change up the above routine with a few other exercises..but this is the one i do most often when i go by myself. hope this helps..and good luck.
  13. wtg Danya on the 17 lbs. This is my second day of my 1 week pre-op liquid diet, and i too did a workout with the personal trainer today..was only 30 mins (she was worried id get light headed but i felt fine) and today was a better day than yesterday...i wonder if the workout somehow helps or if its just a coincidence..i wont be working out tomorrow..so if its a rough day again, then we will find out. Stay strong!
  14. my surgeon is requiring 1 week liquid. Like mentioned above...every surgeion is different.
  15. What a great story about the pjs... keep up the positive attitude and the hard work...this is a great journey to be on.
  16. way to go...keep up the good work.
  17. Its hard to really tell ya what to get because each doctor/surgeon has different requirements. My surgeon gave me one list, and the nutritionist that sees all of the patients for this surgeon, had a slightly different list. A few things are almost universal though. sugar-free popsicles crystal light decaf coffee/tea no-sugar added carnation instant Breakfast skim milk hope this helps
  18. Yup was informed of the above both verbally from surgeon as well as in the reading material. Since the band is just a tool...if i get a few years out of it before anything happens with it, im confident that I will have formed and kept the habits needed to continue to eat healthy portions and healthy foods, even if the band was no longer in place. Thanks for posting tho, for those who may be browsing the forum before even talking to surgeon this could be helpful.
  19. Sorry, not here..but will be watching this thread for ideas for when i go on solids after my surgery...thanks for posting the question.
  20. Congrats on getting back into it. Best of luck and determination to you on your revisit to this amazing journey.
  21. Twins....I absolutely love that idea....I dont work around food..but anything and everything hubby makes smells yummy, even stuff I dont care to eat lol...So i may have to try that...thanks for the suggestion. Anume...my surgery is 26th and I start my week pre-op diet, on the 19th...I will be thinking of you...we both WILL get through this...it will all be so worth it in the end.
  22. They say the first month is the hardest, so way to go on making it through!
  23. I get severe headaches when i dont eat within 5-6 hrs of my last meal. I asked nutritionist and surgeon abourt this for when i do the liquid diet..they said the protein drinks should be enough to keep them from happening, but if not..a few crackers would be okay, and see if that helps. They said the diet is to reduce the fat and sugars you are taking so it will shrink you liver..and a few crackers wouldnt be enough to keep that from happening....but if u feel better hearing it from your doc directly, give them a quick call in the morning and see what they suggest. Good luck!
  24. I found Muscle Milk on sale today, so grabbed it to try out before my pre-op liquid diet starts...I tried chocolate...YUCK! lol. I also found Myoplex Lite...chocolate fudge .... a little better taste. If i dont find anything else i like better, i can stomach it enough drink one a day for the weeek before and the week after surgery. Im going to try one or two more that ive seen listed on this board and see how they are.
