Help I feal like nothing has changed since the lapband as far as dieting!
Because you're not even a month banded and likely don't have adequate fluid in your band to control your hunger. It takes most people multiple fills to have adequate fluid in their bad so be patient.

Discomfort Still? For the ladies
I don't think this is gender specific, I just think you're still tender from surgery. It hasn't even been a month so just go easy on yourself and give yourself more time to heal. Best wishes.

May be a dumb Question?
Physically I don't think it would be an issue, however you will likely still be on the post op diet. Being on the post op diet while in Disney would be horrible. If I were you, I'd get the surgery after your trip.

Kidney stones
Are you on a high protein/low carb diet? If so, you should have your doctor make sure the stones aren't from a build of Protein in your urine. I had that happen to me many years ago on Atkins and it's why I refuse to do the whole low carb thing now.

Removal
Feeling down after surgery is normal. Being frustrated with a liquid diet is normal. Everything you're going through is normal. We all went through it and we all survived it and if you give yourself a chance so you will you. But if you rush to have it removed only a week after surgery? Yes, that would be giving up and giving up before you even get started would be a bit ridiculous. Why waste all that money and go through this surgery for nothing? Definitely talk to your doctor about how you're feeling- but don't give up. Give yourself a chance to heal and actually start your Lap Band journey before you do something as drastic as having it removed unnecessarily.

Help get back
Weight loss boils down to simple math, if you consume less calories than you burn, you lose. The easiest way to make sure this happens is to track every calorie you eat and stay to a cup or less of food per meal. Btw, "losing fast" is unlikely. The average is 1-2 pounds per week. Be realistic with yourself and your goals so you don't set yourself up for failure. Best wishes.

Failure......but today......
The title of this thread is 100% wrong, You are not a failure. The only way you can fail is by quitting and you haven't quit. You are just a successful journey in process

Tomorrow is My Day
Good luck! You'll do great!!

Alcohol - haven't seen much sbout it
There's a lot of banded people who enjoy a glass of wine or other drink to wind down their day. I don't personally drink nightly but I do like a drink when I go out to dinner. Just be sure to count the calories so you don't go over your daily allowance and you should be fine.

Anyone on Tamoxifan?
I don't have experience with that specific drug, but it's very common for surgeons to make you stop a lot of both prescription and OTC starting 2 weeks before surgery. I know I have to stop a number of mine before, too. The reason is either it will conflict with the anesthetic, put you at higher risk for infection, or pose a bleeding risk. Best wishes.

Question About Post-Op Band
It's possible to lose weight without fills by consuming less calories than you burn. You have to remember, the band doesn't make you lose weight. The band is there to allow you to be satisfied on much less food for much longer periods of time. By controlling hunger, it allows you eat less, which results in weight loss. But the band itself has nothing to do whether or not you lose weight. Some people can tell a difference right away even with an empty band. Most people do need multiple fills before they have adequate Fluid in their bands. It can be hard in the beginning which is why we call it "bandster hell", because you're expected to eat like a banded person even though without adequate fluid in your band you don't feel like one. I have always lost from the very beginning, even before I had adequate fluid in my band, but I have also counted calories since the day I got home from the hospital. It was hard and I was extremely hungry but I stuck to my daily calorie allowance regardless. I knew I just had to be patient. Best wishes!

Getting a stomach bug, need advice about vomiting.
I can feel my port, too. In fact,I can even see it. But the issue is if you mess it up, you can risk all sorts of complications including life threatening complications due to infection. The risks are simply far to great. Leave it to the bariatric professionals.

Tummy Tuck Before & After Pics
Thank you for the kind words They removed over 12 pounds of skin. I actually am getting my drains and staples out today (yay!), but even with all the swelling, I know I've dropped a full size in shirts already. I went into the hospital wearing a snug XL top and today I'm wearing a L top that fits perfectly. My pants literally fall off of me, which is kinda funny. Because of the binder around my middle, I don't feel them slipping down so I don't realize I'm about to moon the room until the crotch of my pants are at my knees and yank them back up LOL! I plan on buying pants over the next couple days but I know I've dropped at least one size if not possibly two.

Getting a stomach bug, need advice about vomiting.
I keep prescription anti-nausea meds on me at all times. Zofran, to be specific, which is what they actually give to chemo patients to keep them from vomiting. The minute I feel even remotely queasy I take one as a precaution. Perhaps your doc would call something in for you? Btw, doing self unfills was mentioned above me. Please, do NOT do this. It's about the worst and most dangerous advice I've seen. The only person who should ever touch your band is a bariatric professional trained specifically for fills and unfills.

RANT
Holy cow, I have to tell you, you're a better woman than me. Mother in law or not, I'd have ripped her face off and told her off big time. She has NO right to speak to you that way!!! Perhaps you can talk to your husband so he can speak to his (rude) mother on your behalf? You really don't need her drama and negativity.

Wrong choice?
Look at the big picture- does it really matter how fast or slow you lose? All that matters is that you have lost weight and are still working towards losing. Fast forward two years from now: You and your friend are both at your goal weights. Does it matter who got there first? Nope. This is your journey. One of my favorite quotes is "comparison is the thief of joy". Stop comparing yourself to her and embrace your own success.

How do I cook for my husband and myself?
Cooking healthy meals is good for both of you. The only difference is, you can eat a small band sized portion and he can eat as much as he wants.

Any bandsters with MS?
Ironically, I weighed over 400 pounds when I got my Lap Band 16 months ago. The biggest reasons I did this was because I was convinced if I didn't do something I wouldn't live to be 50 years old (I'm currently 39). Plus, I knew that if I ever did reach a point I couldn't care for myself, being 400 pounds would make it extremely hard on those trying to take care of me. I've lost over 200 pounds since I got the band. It's so drastically changed my life for the better. Getting the band is truly the best decision I've ever made for myself. Good luck on your journey. If I can do this, so can you

Heartburn night two...
It's possible, but it could a number of other things, too. I wouldn't get upset until you know what's going on. Either way it's good you're going to see your surgeon.
-
Please help ASAP!
Yes, dehydration is a very real risk. You need to go to the ER. Call your surgeon's office (I'm assuming they have an emergency number) and let them know you're going to the ER. This way, he can either meet you there or give the staff instructions. Worst case scenario, go to the ER and get IV fluids but don't let them touch your band. Then go to your surgeon immediately tomorrow.

Noticing the loss
I didn't notice it until considerably after others did. But when I did, the first place I really saw it was in my face. I also saw it in my feet and hands early on, too. In fact, my feet shrank from a 10W to an 8 1/2M.

psoriasis,,,cyst..?
Only connective tissue autoimmune diseases and a few specifically listed gastrointestinal autoimmune diseases are contradictions to the Lap Band. This is per the Allergan website. Psoriasis isn't one and isn't listed so you should be fine.

Still hungry
That's not a sign your band has slipped. If you're hungry more often then you likely still need more Fluid in your band to control hunger. How much you can eat isn't a sign of a slip or needing a fill, though. The band isn't meant to physically stop you from eating anything. This is why it's important to stick to band sized portions regardless of how much you can actually eat. Concentrate on how well your hunger is controlled not your food intake. Best wishes.
