Big time constipation 3 weeks post surgery
I had the same thing happen with a laxative, it was horrible. I spent the whole day in bed, in tears, because the cramping was so severe.

Big time constipation 3 weeks post surgery
Try taking a stool softener, like Colace, every morning. It will help you get more regular without all the cramping of a laxative. Once you're not so bound up anymore, stop the stool softener and switch to a fiber supplement to keep things continued moving. Oh and drink LOTS and LOTS of Water. It really does help a lot. (btw, I have the same problem and this is what I have done to help it)

From very little restriction to too tight
It definitely can. I only have 5.2 cc in my 10cc band and am very much in the Green Zone- and that is after having .1cc taken out for originally being too tight. And yes, that small .1cc made a huge difference. Best wishes

From very little restriction to too tight
Yes totally possible. You probably just need a little bit taken back out. No big deal, it happens all the time. It's good you're going back in tomorrow.

fustrated not losing help
If you're tracking calories and exercising, then it's just a plateau I know they suck and they're frustrating but it's a very normal part of weight loss. Keep staying within your daily calorie allowance and exercising the weight will start coming off again.

If you're not already, track calories and measure your portions. It's the only way to be 100% sure you're not accidentally eating too much.

Tummy Tuck Before & After Pics
Today is day 15 post surgery and I'm still recovering. I still have some staples in too and will until Monday. At this point, my back and hips and actually hurt a lot worse than my stomach. In fact, though my stomach is tight and swollen it really doesn't hurt anymore. My back, on the other hand, is killing me. This is turning out to be a lot rougher recover than I anticipated.

Drinking thru/down my meals
You fix that by stop eating around the band- which is exactly what you're doing. You get your "stop" or "full" signal after little food so you try to wash it down so you can eat more. You're totally defeating the purpose of your band, which is to leave you feeling satisfied after little food. I would very strongly suggest you talk to your doctor, tell him what you're doing, and see what his suggestion is. If you continue to eat around your band like this you're risking stretching your pouch and even possibly a slip. Best wishes.

Fill #1
Every 30 days is pretty standard. Just be patient.

I can eat 2 weeks post op
There's a popular saying around here- just because you can eat something doesn't mean you should. Unless your doctor specifically gave you permission to eat normal food this early, you are putting yourself at very real risk for band slips and serious complications. If this is the case then you need to go back to your post op diet and immediately and tell your doctor exactly what you've you done so he can make sure you're ok.

Have to start over...WFT?!?!!!!!
It sucks but this is very normal. The reason being is your health changes and after a certain amount of time tests and results are considered invalid/expired. It'll be worth it in the end.

Lots of stomach pain
You should be able to eat normal, but you shouldn't have pain. I would call your doc if I were you and request a barium swallow to make sure your band is in the correct position.

MRI?
Lap Bands are fine with MRI's. I've had a couple since getting my band.

No Fill Today;-(
Why did the doctor decide you didn't need one? Can you go at least 4 hours between meals without hunger?
-
4 years later- Only second fill- Struggling!
If you can't get water down you need to get some removed ASAP. That's dangerous and puts you at risk for dehydration.

Is it possible for your band to become too tight without a fill
Some of us have extremely temperamental bands. Temperature, stress, hormones, illness, allergies, and even elevation can effect it and make it tighten right up. I'm definitely one of those people, too. Is it too tight? If so, maybe you could get a really tiny unfill just for the summer?

Fell off the wagon and struggling to get back on
Being as you're already struggling with reflux, the last thing you need is another fill. In fact, I fear you may be too tight and need a slight unfill. You have to remember your band has absolutely nothing to do with weight loss nor does it make it you lose weight. Losing weight boils down to simple math- when you burn more calories than you consume you lose. The band only controls your hunger making it a lot easier to be satisfied on smaller portions thus consuming less calories. Here's a couple links that I think will really help you get back on track by better understanding your band: The Lap Band is NOT About Restriction- Dr. Simpson Tighter Isn't Always Better- Jean McMillan You did this once before successfully and I have no doubt you can do it again. Look at it as starting over. Go see your nutritionist and let them help you get back on track with food. Read the above links. You can do this! Best wishes and congratulations on your son!

9 month anniversary of band removal!
I agree with everything here 100%. No one meant to insult or upset anyone. In fact, the only person who was disrespectful and snarky on this entire thread was balbuquerque. The rest of us were simply pointing facts versus false information, nothing more. Sorry if not wanting to misinform others is "unsupportive" but we owe to the rest of the community not to pass on bad info and needlessly scare people.

Port Adjustment
It should have been stitched into place during surgery, not left floating around. Did yours maybe tear loose? It's not common but it can and does happen.

Feeling like a failure and need to vent
You're not a failure, in fact far from it. You've just hit a stumbling block on your way towards success. I've only hit one major stumbling point since being banded 16 months and that was over this past Christmas. I don't know what happened, but after about a month of grazing and eating like crap the scale jumped up 6 pounds the week after Christmas. My instinct was to give up and cry, but I realized that's the exact same stinking thinking that led me to need WLS to begin with. So, I let it go. I purged my home of all even remotely tempting food and went back onto my normally healthy eating plan. At first, it was hard because eating so poorly during that time period woke up my addictive food behavior. But I stuck to it and within 2 weeks the weight came back off and I was right back on track like my slip up never happened. You can totally do this. You've had a small temporary set back but you are strong enough to get back track and continue on your journey of success. Best wishes.

9 month anniversary of band removal!
That's my point exactly. It wouldn't matter if you lost the weight due to WLS or just a crash diet it's the weight loss that causes the gallbladder issues not the band. I also just had a tummy tuck and skin removal surgery due to weight loss. Blaming the band for having your gallbladder removed is like blaming the band for me having to go through a tummy tuck. Oh and I assure you, I don't work for anyone and I'm far from confused. I do, however, have a low ignorance tolerance and that seems to be running amok in this thread. Thanks bayougirlmrsc for bringing my attention back to this thread

My new tummy;)
Your pouch is stretched from eating too much and/or too fast. Going forward, it's crucial you measure your food and stick to a cup or less per meal. It's also very important to take small bites, chew it until mush, and pause between bites. You can fix this but you'll have to be diligent so it gets better rather than worse. Best wishes.

Help I feal like nothing has changed since the lapband as far as dieting!
Then I guess I'm not sure where your problem is? If you're not hungry and because of it eating very little, then your band is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
