Soup is mostly liquid which goes right through (slider). Realistically, you're measuring the solid pieces not the broth. That's not exactly easy or something I want to bother, so I just pour about cup to cup and a half and call it a day. Even if you had a whole can, which is about 2 cups, you're not likely to over a cup of solid food.< /p>

I hear you! I've been plateaued about 8 weeks now, watching the same two pounds bounce back and forth on the scale. But, I've noticed my clothes still getting bigger despite the stalled scale.< /p>
Honestly, I'm to a point that as long as I'm not gaining, I'm totally ok with a scale stall. I know it'll come off eventually and whether that takes a month or a year- fine by me.

LOVE all of these!!!! My NSV's are
*Went from 5-6 shots a day for diabetes to 1 (ONE!!!!)
*From taking 2 orals meds to 1, all for diabetes
    *Crossing my legs
*Bending over to tie my shoes or my son's without getting red in the face or feel like I will pass out
*Having my heart rate drop from the 80's to the 60's
*NOT feeling like everyone was looking at me thinking how big I was every time I was in public
    *Buying cuter clothes
*Sweating because I want to not because it just occurs naturally from doing not much of anything
*Being able to sit like a kid on my couch (ie feet hiked up, knees near my chest kind of thing).
Finding at least one picture that I think, 'thats not so bad' instead of any photo of myself making me sick to my stomach
That is just a few!!! Can't wait to have many, many more!!!!

Thanks for the info - I was able to get into my doc this morning, I was way too tight, the Fluid actually was pushing itself out of the band - then went and did a barium test so all seems good now. Just have to get my throat now healed up cause it's still a little irritated, but i can drink a lot faster than I could before so THATS a great sign. Liquids for another day and hopefully it will resolve the issue.

My snow pants fit! It's been years. These are overall-style and pretty tight in the abdomen. So happy! Now I can play in the snow, walk outside on icky days like this one, etc. And next year they will be too big. Yippee!

Typically speaking, most surgeons say a cup or less of food per meal. Some say as little as a half cup. The reason for the cup limit is to avoid stretching your pouch above the band.

My daughter takes Flexeril and only takes it before bedtime, too. It does make her drowsy. However, I've taken it and only had a mild drowsy effect. I suspect if I took it regularly, I'd get used to it.
I take Baclofen for muscle spasticity, cramping and pain. It too is a muscle relaxer but it doesn't have nearly the drowsy effect.

I read about the possible eye problems, too. However statistically speaking, it's a very rare side effect. She's doing very well on it so far and I've made an appointment with my ophthalmologist for her to get a base line exam. I have to get my eyes checked every 6 months because of the MS so I figure I'll just hers checked at the same time.

There is no way to know when, or if, you'll need a fill until after your band is placed and you see how you feel.
Just make sure to have a good local surgeon for your follow up care and trust his judgement for when he thinks you'll need a fill. You'll need to see him monthly post surgery, anyway.

The reason I ask is, it's the stomach retching and stomach contracting in vomiting that is dangerous. If the food is just being burped back up gently, or PB'd, it's not worrisome. If you are retching and having stomach contractions such as with vomiting, it's dangerous.
If I were in your shoes, I'd stay on liquids today then call your surgeon first thing in the morning if you're still having problems. It's always better to be safe than sorry.
    Best wishes.

As the gowalking mentioned, welcome to bandster hell. Not uncommon at all to have the feelings you are having. My suggestion to you would be to follow very closely the TYPE of foods your surgical team recommends for you at this point and do your best to limit quanity. Lots of folks you will read about on here, GAINED weight during the period after introducing "food" back into their diet....until they have their band adjusted to where it provides the help it's designed to do.
Try not to get discouraged....you're 5 weeks into your new life. Once again, just follow the TYPES of food you've been OK'd to have. I've been on here long enough to have read several post op diet plans....your's seems pretty liberal. Use caution. Best wishes and never, ever give up!

You are in bandster hell. That is the time period between the surgery and some feeling of restriction. This is when you just have to tough it out and diet until the fills start to work. Just be aware that feeling full no longer exists for you or any of us. Your goal is to feel satiety...which basically is that you eat till you are not hungry...which is not the same as being full. In time and with correct restriction, you should get to that point and then hopefully, you will 'get it'. Good luck and try not to be discouraged...you are very new to the process still.

The collarbone thing is a biggy! So are the ribs!!
I am actually in love with my collar bone, in fact my daughter has even commented that I should wear shirts that show off my shoulder and collar bone more often because it looks really good.
The rib thing is kinda funny. Between your ribs, in the center of your rib cage, there is a connective area called the xiphoid process. I actually went to my doctor in a panic because I had this "big weird bump" on my chest in the middle of my rib cage. He actually laughed at me and goes "ummm, that's you, not a tumor. I'm guessing you've just never been small enough to feel or see it before"
So...yeah..I freaked out over my own rib cage

    Some facts:
-Over 12 million (not 5 million) have lost their insurance coverage due to Obamacare
-Over 7 million will remain uninsured because they don't make enough to qualify for the tax credit but make too much to qualify for Medicaid.
-Obamcare doesn't only have minimum care standards but maximum. All policies must not only meet minimum standards but they can not exceed the care offered either. If an insurance carrier offers too little or too much, they are fined heavily.
-The average insurance cost increase is 41% due to Obamacare.
The worst is yet to come: "In 2010, the Health and Human Services Department estimated that 40% to 67% of individual plans would eventually lose their "grandfathered" status, which only was conferred if a plan was purchased before the health care law was approved in 2010."
The insurance increases and cancellations ARE because of Obamacare and Obama himself freely admits it. Obama's sorry excuse for an apology for all the loss of policies and idea of fixing it? He gave them a 1 year reprieve. That's it. And that does nothing for policies already canceled.

Of course, I have been encouraging everyone who is still drinking the Obamacare Koolaid to read the actual bill. Yes, it's over 1000 pages long. Yes, it took me months but I did read it entirely. But, if you read it and get the facts versus the media bytes being fed to everyone, you'll see the horrible truth for yourself.

The green zone is when your band is adjusted properly so that you are satisfied for 3-4 hours with just one cup of food.
Here's a video that explains it better. If you're new to this you should watch all 9 minutes but the part about the green zone starts around the 5:45 minute mark. If you have time, try to watch all 4 9 minute videos.
