bbbanded reacted to #MagicWithinme in What to do what to do
I've had my band unfilled about 3 times. Because I didn't add anything for 2 years, (I was being so strict on myself) that every time I got up to 3ccs I couldn't eat, sip a little. I'd go back to dr to take what I had put in removed and wait another week. I was still having problems (things got swollen) that dr ended up removing everything from band. Id have to wait 6 weeks to start over. I did that 3 times. But hey I lost weight during that time!
just remember small, bites, that's my biggest problem, sometimes I so hungry I forget, and I end up in bathroom, with my finger down my throat trying to make things come back up, or down. I know that's not ideal either but in that moment...

bbbanded reacted to kwcrnp in It finally happened!
I began my journey in Nov 2014 and lost 26 lbs by surgery. I had my LB done 4/16/15 and have lost 23 more lbs for 49 total.
Today was the first day that I got any compliment on how I look!! I got " wow you look great!", " wow you've lost a lot of weight". This happened all morning!! I was so happy! Only a few people at work know I had WLS.
Picture from my vacation last week...my dgt said it was my Kim Kardashian dress!! Lol

bbbanded got a reaction from Bandista in first fill in a year
Mixed emotions to say the least. I feel like it's great because I've been at a stalemate, yet bad because for the longest time I was able to lose weight doing essentially nothing, bad because I can't eat and because I've been able to go so damn long without a fill :/ and good because this will help me to reach goal..I guess.
I think my problem is that I felt I had a handle on my own weight loss. Like I was doing this on my own because I didn't need a fill and now I feel desperate. I feel like I'm failing my band.

bbbanded got a reaction from enjoythetime in I can't stop thinking about food O_o
For the first time in my now 2 plus years post op after kicking 140 lbs, I can't seem to shake food, the thought of it, cravings, and the need for it. There was a time when I could eat like I was on the two week pre op diet, even the month post op, and be more than fine and then there's now where every thought revolves around what I could eat.
It's kind of scaring me. I got down to being 20 lbs away from my goal weight to climbing back up to 30 lbs away. Anybody have this issue, and how does it pass??
Just a side note because someone is bound to come to the conclusion. I am not expecting.

It does pass every so often yes, I feel like since I've been busier I've been giving myself excuses to eat out and more often. If I had more time at home I'd be in a better place. Thanks much!

I made it, and it's too big to leave in a blog! Sorry but I am so excited. Someone at work came to me yesterday and said oh you lost weight I didn't notice until they, other coworkers, said it but you look good what did you do? To which I replied with my usual response, I don't drink soda, a little juice and lots of Water, Don't eat fast food, exercise smaller portions yada yada yada.
Then the big question: How much did you lose? It seems so hard to come out and say it and expect people to believe me, because I barely believe it. It's just that hard to grasp the reality of it all. But I rounded and told her 130. Going back to my first consultation with my surgeon he asked what my goal weight was I told him 175, to which he was quick to assure me the average weight loss with the band is about 40% of your excess weight. That meaning 40% or the 200 something lbs I was over weight and not 40% or the 331 that I was. That calculated out to me possibly losing some 80 lbs. So far I've beat the odds by 50 lbs. Needless to say I'm very pleased. It's been a while since I've been to the office, I ought to pay them a visit one of these days. My goal is to reach ultimate goal of 165 by my two year surgiversary! 35 lbs? No problem, knock on wood!

bbbanded got a reaction from Leepers in Onederland
For the first 8 months I was very strict with the diet and exercising very regularly. Then I slacked off worked out every so often, but still no soda or fast food anything like that. Just not exactly what I should've done. Since September '13 though, I've been pretty good about eating and the gym again. If I didn't go to the gym I very well and if I went to the gym my eating was fair, but could've been better. As of late though, I've been very strict again.
