Hi Destiny. Welcome to the group. My name is Sue. I've been banded for 4 1/2 months and have lost 40 lbs.

Hi destiny. March 10th will be 10 months and I'm down 70 lbs. got to admit the last month has been slow, but that's ok, I still have so much to be grateful for.

OK to start I have a question for you are you getting banded or thinking about other wls, now I will say I was banded Sept 28th 2012 and have lost 93 lbs so far I was 320 lbs when I started thinking about getting banded , but I was banded Sept. 2o12 and weighed 276 then , before banding I weighed a bit more but the 2 week diet to shrink my liver that the doctor ordered me to do made me lose the weight so I could be banded , so do your research and ask ANY questions to your Doctor so you are comfortable with what ever surgery you choose , all I can say is my band is helping me and if you can't tell click on my pic then go to my gallery and you will notice the changes, it took me a while to notice also till people kept telling me , and I am SO MUCH MOCRE ACTIVE and have SO MUCH MORE energy, well good luck and if you do choose the band there are a lot of informative , nice , and helpful people on here also and most of us like to just talk about are experiences and not each others and 98% of us try to give positive feed back and encouragement.

I am thinking about it...I am headed more towards the band but my dr he recommends the gastric bypass for me because i told him I wanted to lose over half my body weight n I weigh 360

I was banded 9/3 and have lost about 65 pounds. Working on the last 20. And they are fighting to hold on!!!

Ten months out and down 103 lbs.

Hey Destiny...I just posted the other day that my primary doctor also wanted me to have the sleeve or bypass because I needed to lose more than 100 lbs. I went with the band despite what she said and if you look at my ticker below, you can see that I lost 117 lbs. and just reached goal. You can lose however much you want to lose as long as you work the program. And...you can run into trouble no matter which WLS you have if you do not follow the rules. Good luck with whatever surgery you decide on.

I was banded in Sept of 2009...I have lost about 135 lbs...and have not had ANY band caused problems. So you could say I'm a happy bandster! :)

December 14 2009 and 121lbs

Dec 13, 2011, lost 65 lbs with 20 to go.

8 weeks and 27 pounds down. The last few weeks have been slow for me

Banded May 11th 2014, lost 138 lbs thus far.

4/25/12

70lbs

Banded 9/11/2013 and down 106 pounds...Very happy with my choice.
