What Did You Eat For The Fourth?
I ate one fourth a hotdog without a bun of course. Also a tiny bit of poatoe salad. It was good but the potatoes salad was a little too dense but wanted a little.

Name One Good And Bad Surprize After Being Banded!
Good (having so much more energy with 68 lbs gone and loving myself again!) Bad (there are times I wish I could just eat all I wanted or what I wanted for a hamberger and fries) but it was the hamberger and fries that helped me get fat but there are times I miss just being able to eat

This Time Last Year
I am seeing all my summer clothes of last year don't fit at all. I have tried some on and it looks like I am wearing some else's clothes. It is great losing 70 lbs will do that. I do have to admit I am sad the cute clothes I can wear but baggy clothes aren't my look anymore. I have buy a few new clothes but not too many because I am going to be losing more and not staying at this size. The other difference is I notice I hold my head up higher and I am glad to be noticed nit to just blend in. I am loving my journey! Thank you lap band.

Has Anyone Tried Alcohol?
I was wondering if anyone have tried alcohol? I am almost 7 months out from surgery and have not had one drop of alcohol. I am wanting to have a drink Tuesday night since it is my last day at my current job of 15 years. I am moving on to bigger and better things. I am scared that I might get sick or how it will affect me. I know for sure I wont be having carbonnation OK can't spell. Haha. I tried a sparkling water once and it made me instantly sick. So maybe a margratria. What have other people tried?

Great Day
I had a great day today. I had an appointment with my nutritionist and we went to Walmart. She went over with me the things I buy when grocery shopping. They always tell us what we should look for in a label bit with her right there it made so much more sense. She showed me better options besides some of the things I usually buy. I was amazed with some of the things I was buying was smart choices which they weren't always the right choice. I think if more people could take a field trip like this there would be a ton more people with their eyes opened!

Olives
I just want to know if black olives on a salad are something I should stay away from or are they OK for me to have. I have a subway salad almost everyday for lunch while I am at work. I have roasted chicken then a tomatoe cucumber lightly shredded cheese and then quit a bit of black olives. They are something I can eat but not sure how good they are for me? Can some one please fill me in!

Food Addiction But Still Sucessful?
I have to say I was addicted to food also. Well I don't think most of us would qualify for the surgery if we didn't like food. There are for sure foods I miss but lots of the foods it is impossible for me to be able to get them. I have had a few stuck times and now I don't crave those foods because I know how bad that hurts and how bad I feel during it. I could list a ton of foods I couldn't get enough of before surgery and now I can't eat them. My one I miss the most is a chedder bread from great harvest but without that and many other foods I am feeling amazing with me getting healthier!

I have a couple of pics of me the morning of surgery and it CONFIRMS I made the right choice with the band! Thank you band and lets keep on the right path together to reach the goal. I will keep my pics to remember how far I have come and where I never want to be again!

Estimated Time Ur Off Work
I took a week off because I am a cosmetologist and that requires me to stand all day and have my arms raised up all day. I really enjoyed a week off. Taking that time off it gives you a chance to learn how to pack food for your work day. I am six months out and always have food packed every day for work. If you don't have the right options for you can make bad choices. I got stuck once at work and that is something I don't want to happen ever again at work!!!!!

How To Through Triggers
Yes I know if you don't have some things you crave it will end up bad. I have a little here and there but for the most part I am on target with diet. I do say I love my band because it doesn't allow me for much of the foods I love. I realize getting stuck with bad foods isn't fun!

How To Through Triggers
I was at work today and they had a bake sale in the break room. I sat there and ate my chicken salad. It was hard to pass up some of the sweets of course there were some of my favorite ones there. I know it was the sweets that got me to the over weight stage but I have will power most the time. How do you get through foods that are so hard to pass up???

What Was Your " Ah Ha" Moment?
I lost my dad four years ago to brain cancer. I ate to cope with the loss. The weight kept packing on. I didn't realize how I had gained. I stand all day for my job and my left ankle kept really swelling so I went to my doc. We tryed lots of different things to help the swelling and they didnt help. I think he was embarressed to tell me it was my weight. He was my fahters doc so he had been through all that with us so he was close. I said to him is it because I am fat and he said it might have some to do with it. My sister is an er nurse and she told me if it is my left ankle it has to do with my heart and that scared me so I got ahold if my doc. He sent me to my surgeon for a consultation. My surgeon wanted me to do gastric and I told him no but I would do lap band. We sent it in and I was approved right away and here I am with 65 gone already!

If It Comes Easy You Shouldn't Want It Anyways!!!
It is not the easy way out for sure. I was banded 12/19/11 and its taken me this long to realize that my life will never be the same. I know that sounds stupid but I can actually fully understand it now. There will be foods I will never eat again. Sometimes just that is hard because I didn't get overweight not liking food. Its like someone took my best friend away. This is a physical journey and as well as a mental one. I have come to terms with a lot of it. I am almost 6 months out and have had to change my lifestyle. Not focus my life around food. I guess it still does focus on food just in such a better way. Eating better and being active. It has made me a better person with getting a better attitude with myself. I have lost 65 lbs so far and definitely not done. But for anyone saying we took the easy way out let them walk in our shoes for a week and see if they still say it's the easy way out. I bet they wouldn't say that again! God bless!

I am a cosmetologist so I stand all day and by the end of the day my feet and ankles don't hurt. My back is feeling better everyday. I am having more energy everyday. I can wear all my clothes again. I feel so much better already I can't believe how great I will feel at goal weight. I might have to put rocks in my pockets so I wont blow away. Haha.

Disappointed And Frustrated
My surgeon uses the nutritionist and him as a team. I see my surgeon once a month and my nutritionist every two weeks right now to keep myself on track. My nutritionist is free for the rest of my life since I had surgery here its a package deal. Since it is free I really take advantage of it. The thing I am working on now is making sure I am exercising.
